I cant remember if he had final say in Denver or not, but he didnt have final say in NY. He supposedly did have control in Atlanta, but there were several moves Blank made that Reeves objected to (like trading for Peerless Price) so its hard to say. Just going by what the Falcons drafts were like, I'd say not so good.

As good as last year was, I doubt he'd even want to change anything about the scouting.

Kinda interesting from your post, though, that apparently Jerry Jones and Arthur Blank loved Peerless Price, while Bill Parcells and Dan Reeves didn't.

And that's why this is such a good move.

Meh.

Dan Reeves = Hudson Houck hiring last year.

I remember people thought Hudson Houck would help the Cowboys turn the corner and I stated that the real problems with this team weren't being addressed by hiring yet another coach. Suffice it to say, even with the great Hudson Houck, we still got similar results from our Offensive Line.

Until the real problems on this team are addressed, I just can't get too excited.

Especially given the fact that Dan Reeves will be a "Consultant" and Jerry Jones is still the General Manager.

Now if he were coming in like Bill Parcells did, with authority and as Head Coach, then we would be talking.

The no speaking thing has been great. But I like the Dan Reeves hire. He's the football guy they need around the ranch. Now if Jerry could just let his ego go and make him GM . . .

Hey I will take a VP of Operations that has Jerry Ear that well help Balance out Jerry the GM

These are just some of the problems I believe this team has and sources close to the team have stated these to be problems as well.

Team Chemistry - Michael Irvin stated that this was a huge issue and said his claim was further supported by what he saw in Philadelphia on the sidelines.

Too many CEOs and very few grunts - Nate Newton made this statement several times. When you have players refusing to play on Special Teams, this is definately a problem.

Lack of Discipline - Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips both said they needed to get tougher days after the meltdown in Philadelphia.

And far more troubling is the december meltdowns and the way this team seems to lay eggs when it matters most.

I hope this is true and I can't wait for the press conference when it does. There is something so right about Dan Reeves being associated with Cowboys again. With the exception of personnel decisions, Reeves is as good a football mind as there is. I know that is a big exception, but there is a lot football that Reeves is great at. I hope it happens and I hope Jerry listens to him.

Hmmmmmmmm..........much ado about something I hope. I mean, who's to say JJ will listen to Reeves? I like and respect Reeves as much as anyone but it really could just be a mirage on JJ's part. Time will tell, but I'm a little surprised at how so many of you assume JJ and the Michelin Man will really listen to Reeves and not just use him as cover.

According to Nate Newton & Bradie Tinker, Bruce Read couldn't beg enough guys to play STs in training camp.

Interesting and if true I cannot believe this wasn't a mega story especially now. That just screams discontent.

I believe it, since we really dont' have any coaches who force players to do anything, esp. not Wade, "aw shucks, let the boy do what he wants he-YUK"

That is interesting. I hadn't heard that. That's the kind of thing that'd have me cutting a player to make an example. I can't imagine any of the players on this roster balking at playing ST. You sure he wasn't saying there weren't enough good ST players in the preseason/TC because those slots were being filled by wannabes at that point?

Nah, I am not naive enough to think that one person is the problem.

As far as Special Teams, I read that on this very forum and supposedly it happened during Training Camp. I am not sure if it was reported via a Recap, an Article or Youtube but someone in the media made that claim and it was posted here.

I will be rooting for the team no matter what but I suspect this could be just another Coach/Front Office guy brought in as kind of a bandaid.
