San Diego picks up a crucial 3rd down, midway in the 4th quarter. The next play San Diego scores a Touchdown that gives the Chargers an 9 point lead. However for those with DVR's, on the 3rd down conversion play, the clock had run out without the Ref's blowing the whistle for a delay of game penalty.

It wasn't the only penalty that somehow the refs missed.

C'mon guys, we're better than blaming things on the officiating, arent we? The defense stunk today and the offense has been in a rut for a few seasons now. We have a whack job for GM and a head coach that is in over his head. Officiating is the least of the problems.

The Chargers oline were playing WWF rules today with no calls. They had choke holds on every play go back and watch the game. That holding call in Leary was just pathetic he didn't even hold the guy he pushed him to the ground. Sorry it was pretty lopsided with the calls. Same with the Scandrick PI.

Some of those choke holds and flat out tackle by their offensive line gave Rivers extra time.

I won't blame the refs for their officiating but this is the 3rd game in a row where I saw our linemen being held in this one arm chokehold these linemen are getting away with against us. I even complained about it last week against the Rams even though we won by 30. Why are linemen all of a sudden getting away with this against u s?

I've never heard a rational explanation as to why obviously bad calls by the officials don't impact the outcome of the game.

I don't think that's what people mean when they say not to blame the officials. It's more like...when your defense gives up over 500 yards and your vaunted offense can only put up 14 points, then it takes some pretty big balls to blame the officiating. That, and also over the course of the season you expect it to even out. JMO.

The officiating was inconsistent, to put it mildly.

The Leary play is a hold, but the 2 chokings weren't holding?

The Scandrick play was PI, but Weddle faceguards while a jumping into Witten and that isn't PI?

Yeah, I'm sorry but the officiating was heavily in SD's favor today.

I saw a chokehold by the Chargers right guard that went uncalled. I think we were also called for a penalty on the exact same play

Me too, I was wondering what the heck. How can refs miss that ?

There was a play that the announcer referred to Wilbur being in for Ware. I looked at Wilbur on the next play, he beat the OT with a spin to the inside and the OT just tackled him after the move no hold was called. That's not even counting the two arms around the neck I counted.

Yeah sort of. I signed up 2-3 yrs back but really in the past 12 mos or so I have really posted.

Well, for future reference there is a thread about the officials after every single game--win or lose.

Yes, yes it was.

Yeah, that's pretty bad officiating, it's not even a judgment call. It took 32 frames after the clock hit 0 for the ball to be snapped. That's 0.53 seconds. They weren't checking for delay of game at all.

The Cowboys were whistled for five penalties for 33 yards today.

The Chargers were whistled for eight for 75 yards.

Yep, it was the officials who screwed the Cowboys........

So did Freeney blow out his knee when Smith pulled him down by the shoulder with both hands? The refs picked that flag up on that hold.
