It only takes 1 missed block by a tackle or TE. It's not like that hasn't happened before. It's a risk we don't need to take. Romo knows
how to play and how to exploit the Giants.

So no starters should ever play in the preseason?

Dallas need to get ready, yes there are risk but shying away from those risk is not going to benefit Romo or the Cowboys Romo has not seen much action since Thanksgiving and needs to be out there. This is all part of the job and if Romo can't make it through 1/2 of play in pre season then we are in trouble.

How many times has Romo beaten the Giants? I've lost count.

This is unnecessary risk. A lot of teams are sitting their QBs almost the entire preseason nowadays.

All these people saying don't play Romo will be the same ones complaining that he should have got more work in if by chance he has a slow start to the season. It never fails.

I think Seattle isn't nearly the team some people think they are. They are living on reputation these days.

That would be me.

He played 4 games last year. He needs to play some football. The regular season is 2 weeks away.

I'm more interested in what the defense does against their Ones. I'm not that worried about the offense. I'd give Tony three series and call it a night, then let Dak go the rest of the first half with the starters
Dak should play all of Q2 and Q3.

our guys in the 90s never played in the preseason. They were all like adrian peterson and watched. In the mid to late 90s I can't really recall emit and aikman ever playing. It seemed like they never did.
They did. Aikman even played in preseason games after his off season back surgery in 1993 i believe. But they did only play minimal amount.

Getting ready for the season is not unnecessary, he has thrown 5 passes since Thanksgiving? No the object is to get ready for the season and if I was that concerned over 1/2 of a game then things do not bode well for the reg season. Sorry I don't believe in playing scared. My hope is 1st unit get a half to get ready for the season then you concentrate on NY and have bubble players have the last pre season game as the team has to make the final cuts.

Should only be two pre-season games and starters should only play in the first game to get ready. Second game
for the scrubs. Pre-season games are for new guys and rookies to prove their metal. Vets who have played
through seasons know how the game works and only need to be ready for real games. I would, if coaching, sit my
starters for the next two worthless games and let them start thinking about the Giants. But, that's just me.

People are afraid because they either think our players are either extremely fragile, unconditioned, or just plain unlucky with injuries.

Alot has changed since the 90s. It does seem that we baby players more, but i understand the view of protecting your football assets. I just dont like it.

And Catch 22 now is the lockout agreement in place today.

Cowboys are going to kick some Seattle ***. Their front seven should worry more about holding ground against the Cowboys line than putting cheap shots on a QB they aren't going to get a wiff of.

Y'all are soft. Every starter needs to play the entire first half. We ALWAYS start each season sloppy.

No, he has thrown thousands of passes since Thanksgiving, and he's played in 100+ NFL games. Romo knows what he's doing.

The offense looks in sync. It was well-oiled for Tony last week, and only penalty flags kept him from marching down the field twice. He's good to go.

Live action and practice 2 different things. We see it different. Dallas can't play scared they have work to do and the season is more than the NY game. It is not a matter of knowing what you are doing it is getting the timing down in real action not this practice where defense has to back off and the session is no more than pitch and catch.

I don't want to see Romo hurt be it this game or any other game but it is football just like other QB will see a lot of time this coming game Romo should be doing the same.

Which is the way it should be. If I see Romo out there for a full half because "that's the way it's always been done," I'm going to lose it. Heck, if Romo gets more than five snaps, I'm not going to be a happy camper. The preseason is moronic and meaningless for vets like Romo, we should be treating it that way.

That's not right. I remember them playing about the normal amount of time for which teams playing their starters.

yet Tom Brady played in 3 pre season game and ample time during the 3rd pre season gamelast season. he is a vet, he has championship yet Belicheck felt the need to have him go out there and play yet with Dallas this team needs to play scared afraid to put players out there to get ready because they could get hurt? Please this is NFL not day care.

Oh, you'd like it a lot less watching your starting QB go down with a significant injury in a meaningless preseason game. And why don't you like it? Just because? Is the product so diminished on the field because of this reduced preseason time that football is no longer enjoyable for you? Or is it just because you don't like to see players babied? Whatever the hell that means.

I'm positive Romo wants to play.
It'd surprise me if he doesn't.

Like last week, they'll probably only do quick reads--get the ball and get it out--to protect him.
He did throw for 356 yards and have a 106 QB rating while Dallas beat NY last year opening week and for the 5th straight time with him under enter.

Dak, on the other had; they will continue to call plays to evaluate him on a variety of throws. Great opportunity for Dak to live (or sort of live) reps and for the team to continue to evaluate--and hopefully enjoy :)
