yet Tom Brady played in 3 pre season game and ample time during the 3rd pre season gamelast season. he is a vet, he has championship yet Belicheck felt the need to have him go out there and play yet with Dallas this team needs to play scared afraid to put players out there to get ready because they could get hurt? Please this is NFL not day care.

So in other words, you're suggesting that Brady wouldn't have had nearly the season he did without playing in those 3 preseason games? LOL. And please spare me with the "this is the NFL, not daycare" stuff -- the injury risk is extraordinarily high in the NFL, by not playing those players, you eliminate that risk. And you might even get to watch them in games that actually matter. Call me crazy, but I think that if Romo doesn't get a half of football in on Thursday night, he'll still wind up being the same awesome QB we've always seen. I know, that's crazy talk.

I'm saying nothing come easy and even vets need the work which is why Belicheck had him out there. It is not funny it is part of the damn job they need to perform this is not Madden these are professional and like all professionals in sports it take a lot of work.

Here are three of the starting QBs who have not taken a single rep in the preseason:
Rodgers
Roethlisberger
Flacco

I assume they'll get some reps this week, but just saying that teams are being cautious.

At least Romo has already been in for 13 plays. I'm thinking he gets 20+ plays this week.

Doomsday, did you hear that? Forget drafting Rodgers for your FF team this year, he is going to be garbage, he hasn't played in the preseason. Sssshhh! Don't tell the almighty Belichick!! LOL.

That's not right. I remember them playing about the normal amount of time for which teams playing their starters.

in the early years, later on in the switzer and gailey years I don't even remember them playing.

Which is the way it should be. If I see Romo out there for a full half because "that's the way it's always been done," I'm going to lose it. Heck, if Romo gets more than five snaps, I'm not going to be a happy camper. The preseason is moronic and meaningless for vets like Romo, we should be treating it that way.

I bet he plays 3 series, or two if we score both times.

Romo didn't look sharp to me. He needs to play.

You cannot coach scared. Your players pick up on it and it is over.

Flacko's situation is a little different though since he is coming back from an injury. Yes I know romo is also but he has been healthy since the spring.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Packers associate head coach Tom Clements said it’s likely Rodgers will start Friday night against the 49ers, even if he doesn’t play at any other point in the preseason.
“Aaron has been very sharp in practice,” Clements said. “We haven’t discussed what the exact playtime will be, but I’m sure he’ll play. I anticipate that he’ll be sharp. But really you have to be moving around quicker than you do in practice. It tests your stamina a little bit more; you have to get used to that. You have to get used to — get reacclimated to the speed of the game because as I said it’s different than practice.

Damn what do you know Rodgers will be playing in the up coming and 3rd pre season game of the year. LOL

The so-called dress rehearsal game. I've got an eerie feeling about this.

I wouldn't treat this like a typical 3rd preseason game. The team has already looked really good. The offense is moving the ball nicely, and the defense looks OK, though depleted up front right now from little nagging injuries.

The game's in Seattle, and no doubt, Carroll would like to get that home base fired up and really go after Dallas with all sorts of blitzes. The Cowboys had better gameplan and prepare like a regular season game because they're coming after Romo full tilt. Bank on it. He's going to take some hits if Dallas opens it up.

Normally, I believe in the full-half approach to these rehearsal weeks to get ready for the real thing in two weeks. We know they'll shut it down for the last preseason game, so this is the time to fine-tune. This is the first real football played generally.

But this already looks pretty tuned up for the Giants compared to most preseasons.

I'd play Romo a quarter with quick routes, screens, and a lot of run plays. Get Zeke about 12-15 carries, however long that takes. Elliott needs the work for sure. Otherwise, I'd set the starters down shortly after the first quarter and take a whooping. Let the Seahawks have their big meaningless party. Let Dak face that head on and continue to grow under fire.

All in all, this has been a pretty clean preseason on the injury front. Let's keep it that way.

I want to face the Giants fully loaded.
Quick routes dont matter anyways. Romo takes late hits virtually every 3rd play. Just saying

Both Roethlisberger and Brown will play in the Steelers' third preseason game, although it's unclear how long they'll play. It's not that head coach Mike Tomlin decided that the two have to play, it's that they sort of just want to play.
“I feel like I could go into the regular season and do it, but I’d like to be out there because it’s a different speed,” Roethlisberger said. “You want to get out there. I wouldn’t even mind getting hit once maybe after the ball’s gone, just a little tap from someone.”
While the Steelers probably don't want to see him take a hit, it's a good sign that's the oft-injured quarterback is feeling that good during the preseason. Brown feels about the same.

Gosh Big Ben is going to be playing in 3rd pre season game as well.

"You need to get back out there, [and] you need to get your mind used to getting ready for a game," Flacco said. "And then, yeah, I need to get over that last hurdle, which is going out there and being a live target for guys to hit and see how I react to it."
Flacco didn't specify how long he would play Saturday, saying the team would approach it like a typical third preseason game.

Those pointing to Flaco, Rodgers, & Roethlisberger as an excuse to sit Tony are looking mighty foolish right now. They're NFL players paid to do a job you cowards, the risk of injury is an inherent reality of the game they play. Deal with it.

I thought he looked good. Hit pretty much every throw. Penalties killed the first drive. Didn't go deep, but otherwise, he hit throws.

I think he should play about a quarter, take a couple of shots downfield, and get out. I suspect he'll play about a quarter and a half.

He had a couple of throws that looked weak and off timing. And didn't go deep.

Definitely not what I'd call mid season form.

We don't need to see much and I'd agree 1 quarter might be enough.

You sound like a parrot, you know that? I've heard this stupid *** line reiterated oh, about a thousand times. Good job, you can regurgitate what you've been hearing year after year after year. The fact is, Flacco, Rodgers and Roethlisberger would be the exact same QBs this year, whether or not they play a few snaps in the third preseason game. To suggest that their play this year will be determined by a few snaps in a preseason game is the height of stupidity.
