Last night is exactly why that's a stupid idea.
He is easily top-3 at his position, maybe the best, when he's healthy. I understand that's the caveat, but when you have a guy like that, you keep him and hope he can stay healthy, because he's THAT much of a difference maker. His presence on the field is priceless. Plays every down as hard as the last. Just an incredibly intelligent, instinctual player. Let's appreciate it.

He's the biggest tease in the NFL...dude is awesome when on the field. Only thing is he has trouble staying on the field. If he can stay healthy he is a HoF type player.

Great game from him last night, though. Dude was beasting.

I laughed and smiled at Michael Robinson last night in his commentary about Lee. He basically said, I was a teammate of his in college (Penn St), and we all called him "Waterboy" because that's just who he is, every day...he plays and tackles that way every day, all day.

I don't think people want him gone as much as they wish he was a little more durable. Too bad he is not a candidate for cyborg transplant.

Great. Another call-out thread for the 4-8 team.

No bigger Lee fan than myself, by the way. But the criticism is warranted.

I don't think he should be criticized at all. That makes me a bigger Lee fan, don't it?

I think most people want someone as good that can play in every game.

If he can great, but so far.....

Who on earth wanted Lee gone? I think many of us wish he was more durable and have implored the team to find a suitable back-up, which Hitch has proven to be, but wanting the guy gone? No way.

If anything, people have been realistic about his health and have worried about the guy. I know that's the case for me. This defense wouldn't be and clearly isn't the same without him, but I worry about his quality of life after football. For a guy with such a caring, laid-back attitude, I don't want him to become the ticking time bomb many of these guys become after football due to their mental health.

Love Lee. He'd be a HOF player if he is healthy. The problem is he's never healthy. Great game last night though.

This. I wasn't necessarily with the cut Lee crowd, I was more with the "I wouldn't blame him for retiring crowd." Only lbs I'd take over a healthy Lee would be kueheckly (sp?) or bowman. I liked Willis too before he retired.

Last night is why it's so hard for Cowboys fans.

Everyone knows how great Sean Lee is. He's an amazing player.

But he gets hurt all the time. It doesn't matter how amazing a player is if he can't stay on the field. If he could stay healthy and have a run or great health and play all the time then yes people would absolutely be thrilled to have him all the time on this field and doing what he can do.

I absolutely love Sean Lee as a Cowboy. We all know how good he is. But it's not like people are wrong when they say "We need to draft/develop a replacement player for Lee because he's never healthy." It doesn't matter that he's a HOF level player when he's in the game, because history has shown us he's missing 1/3rd of the season every year.

I don't want to get rid of him or any craziness like that, but we need a contingency in place for when he goes down yearly, because at this point it's a when, not an if situation. The same thing applies to Romo. All I want is Romo to be healthy and play another 4 or 5 years, but I also know that the next time he goes down could be the last, and his body is definitely breaking down on him as time goes on.

I don't really understand "criticizing" injuries.
It's not like it's on purpose.
And it's certainly not like he could ever be mistaken for someone who doesn't give his all at all times.

I guess it's natural to complain about someone being injured too often--even if it is no fault of their own. But that's a little different than actually saying the player deserves to be criticized fro being injured.
Splitting hairs I guess...

No, there are fans who made it clear that they want Lee gone, crying out for Dallas to cut ties with him.

Of course, if we counted the number of players fans knee-jerk react to and want gone at some point, we probably could include the whole team. Bench Lawrence, cut Lucky, get rid of Church, get rid of Romo, bench Free, cut Rolando ...

Saw one guy in here call Lee an average player. The only thing average or below average is his ability to stay on the field. His talent is special.
