"Sling Blade" for some reason , cant turn the channel till I get at least one "um huh"....

I like the old westerns:
Lonesome Dove
Quigley Down Under
Open Range
Unforgiven
Outlaw Josey Wales
Maverick series on the western channel
All of the Star Trek movies
All of the Alien movies
Band of Brothers
The Santa Clause
Groundhog Day
These are all I can think of ,but they keep me busy.

Something About Mary (like OP)
40 year old Virgin
Superbad
Half Baked
StepBrothers
Munich

Mostly comedies, because if I'm channel surfing, it usually means I'm burning time, and comedies pass the time fast...

Can we get an explanation please!:D;)
Kimberly Elise is one of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood in my opinion. Although it is interwoven with comedy, Elise shows the depths of anger someone could allow themselves to fall after suffering that type of betrayal. I love the white-hot rage she expresses in every scene as she works through the ending of her previous life until she finally reaches (and accepts) the beginning of her new life. And all the usual Tyler Perry stuff is funny as heck also. :p

I actually have quite a few which can make channel surfing dangerous. Here's a few, but there are others...

The Outlaw Josey Wales
Cool Hand Luke
Aliens
The Thing (1982)
The Shining
Bladerunner
Pulp Fiction
Gladiator
Tombstone
The Wild Bunch
Platoon
Harvey
Caddy Shack
Last Of The Mohicans
Gangs Of New York
Silence Of The Lambs
The Godfather I and II
Grand Prix - James Garner
Errol Flynn swashbuckler movies Captain Blood, The Seahawks, Robin Hood
The Usual Suspects
A Christmas Story
The Great Escape
Bridge Over the River Kwai
Animal House

pretty awesome list.

I know that we have a thread on movies, but I was wondering what that one movie is that yall can watch whenever it comes on. For instance, you are channel surfing and it is there and you immediately start watching whatever point the show is in.

For me, it is "Something About Mary". Have seen it too many times but I can never pass it up

Battleship. Gladiator. Iron Man. Liar Liar. Transformers. Meet the Parents. Star Wars. Rocky movies. Click. Man on Fire. Training Day. Book of Eli. Zero Dark Thirty. Real Steal.

Me too.

But it is a classic.
Definitely one I overlooked.

Such a great movie with so many great moments. The SFX for it's time were awesome, I think I'm going to have to watch it this weekend. I always wanted a hat like Mac's!

The other interesting thing about the movie is that there are enough "shallow" plot holes that it leaves you wondering what really happened...

-Like when the dog goes into one of the bedrooms and you only see a shadow on the wall of a person in you aren't sure which character it is that ultimately becomes absorbed
-Or what really happened to cause Fuch's to torch himself.

Lot's of interesting twists & turns.

I had to had it to the folks that did the "prequel" a few years ago and they did a terrific job making sure the details of the Norwegian camp matched what was seen in Carpenter film.

Lord of the Rings...

...can't count the number of hungover Sundays I've spent mindlessly watching htem on TNT

The Searchers
When Harry Met Sally
Patton
Dr. Strangelove
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (But only if the scene where Phoebe Cates comes out of the pool hasn't gone by.)
Where Eagles Dare
Steel Magnolias
The Exorcist
A Clockwork Orange

So many great movies listed here that I love and can watch over and over.
I will try and name a few that haven't been listed yet{I think}
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
Mutiny on the Bounty{with Brando}
La Strada {if you haven't seen this seek it out and watch it and you can thank me later}.
