And missing Owens wide open over the middle? He would have scored easily. Big time QBs make those throws. And losing his composure? He proves that the pressure is too much for him. But I blame the entire Dallas Cowboys for that mega flop...crazy concept.
You mean the play where the entire Giant defensive line was bearing down on Romo?
Romo made two "big time" throws that were negated by poor receiver play. First, there was the would-be TD pass to Fasano, which sailed right through his hands. Second, there was the third quarter pass to Crayton on third and long; the ball hit Crayton squarely in the hands, and he dropped it.
The quaterback's ability to make "big time throws" is only half the equation; the other half is the receiver's ability to make "big time catches."
Do you honestly believe Aikman made every single "big time" throw in a play off game? He didn't, and I can prove it:
Consider the 93 NFC Championship game. During the second drive of the game, Aikman is facing third down in San Francisco territory. He drops back to pass, and heaves a deep ball to Alvin Harper running wide open in the end zone. Unfortunately, the pass falls incomplete because Aikman overthrows Harper -- by the narrowest of margins. In effect, Aikman failed to make a "big time throw" (gasp!).
