Would have been nice for Gregory to have laid the groundwork for his reinstatement earlier so he could have filed months ago and a decision already made by Goodell. Now the decision will not be made before the draft so the Cowboys won’t know if he will be available or not. He also can’t be added as a potential sweetener for a trade if we don’t want him back.

Doesn't matter what it was, it's illegal and is against the terms of his employment.

Next time you speed in your company car you should get terminated from your job.

Difference is Gregory was combatting mental illnesses with his crutch, while you just wanted to ger somewhere more quickly.

Heath, let up.

You know for a a fact he wasnt being used in a trade, but looks like you're coming around finally. The TMZ report was fake, so we at least have cleared that up

LOL. I hope it's fake. If you got proof then I'll gladly take a look at it. Until then, I'll consider it unconfirmed in either direction.

Do you not believe a decision on Gregory's return before the draft would have been a good thing for the Cowboys?

IT is not like they changed the rules, he made his choice he has to deal with it. IF your company says no drugs unless prescribed guess what if they do random tests and you get popped guess what you may not get fired, you may get disciplinary action. If you want to work in your profession you have to follow the rules of employment with said company.

Bad example about speeding because if you are a habitual speeder in company car or even redlight camera violater you can get fired if considered "excessive"

You're going to hold out until the very end, huh?

In the other thread I asked "if he applies for reinstatement would that ease all the doubters minds", and I can't remember your response.

No we have even more evidence now that the report was fake, so if it wasnt obvious before it sure is now that he applying for reinstatement. I know you, you know that the report is fake. There's too much evidence against it now, but I guess you're gonna keep on until he's finally reinstated.

He made the choice for mental health.

I guess I see it differently than others, but I wouldn't allow my employer to tell me to pump myself full of opiods in contrast to smoking weed. If that means that I have to step away for a certain amount of time to get my head right so I wont need either of the crutches, then so be it.

Hold onto the fact that the report is unconfirmed? Yes. Why would I do any differently? I'm simply acknowledging it has been reported and admitting i have no clue if it is true or not because none of us know. What surprises me is why my stance on that seems to cause so much grief on this board, like I must proclaim it is false like I have inside information.

As for your question about filing for reinstatement. I want Gregory to file for reinstatement and be back on the team. I have quoted on numerous occasions a line from War Games..."I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would do any good." My whole point has been there has been *something* that has caused Gregory not to file for reinstatement when he could have. That *something* is unknown. It could be the failed test, it could be several failed tests, it could be he has been clean but he is still just a head case that can't seem to get his life in order to play football. The least of my concerns with Gregory would be that the TMZ report was accurate as maybe he was just waiting for a year to pass from that point to show he has, indeed, turned his life around. If it is not that failed test, then I have LESS confidence in his return and his ability to stay clean because it would mean his other demons are still not under control 4 months after he could have applied for reinstatement and there would be no logical forecasting of any time table for his return. At least with the TMZ failed test you would think he logically needed to wait a year to be clean, which has already occurred.

But, my guess is we'll never know the reason for the 4 month delay (and counting) of filing for reinstatement. One thing I am positive of, it wasn't because he needed to wait for the new league year to start.

OK then he should have made that choice. He should have told every team he interviewed with about his condition. He chose to go with, "being immature" at the combine. He chose to sign his contract with the understanding he knew the rules. He could have chose to go on the reserve retired list and seek the attention he needed then comeback no harm no foul. But what he chose is to self medicate against the rules of his employment and he is now paying the price.

And our path to the super bowl just got easier...lol...in all seriousness why would we want this guy at all. This team needs to send a message to screw ups like this and move on.

Goodell will do it anyways. He will hose him. I thought he just had a mandatory 1 year suspension. Didn’t know the reinstatement thingy was such a big deal. Thought it was formality.

He wasted 2 months

Goodell is going to drag his feet so he should have started the process weeks ago

Josh Gordon admitted to drinking before games and was re-instated.....RGregory even messed this up so he could say he's been clean for a year..... that is nice but not a requirement

My last fearless prediction was that Ro McClain was going to be a big help. I think I was half right on that one.

My next fearless prediction is that Randy Gregory is going to have at least 8 sacks this year. My conviction level is high.

I think he is at the mercy of Goodell. I do really hope the kid does get things straightened out in his life...

I'll never give up on someone like him as human being...from a football stand point, he's hardly played. Might have missed to much time. But maybe some team will find a spot for him.

I remember similiar News just a couple of Weeks before he got tested positive again which resulted in the 1 year ban.
I remember being called a troll for saying he failed a drug test a month before it came out in the media. My friend works for the Cowboys.
