According to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys talked to the Ravens about a possible trade from No. 28 up to No. 16, with the goal of landing pass rusher Charles Harris. The talks didn’t progress significantly, however, and the Ravens decided to pounce on cornerback Marlon Humphrey when he remained available after the first 15 picks were taken.

The Dolphins selected Harris with the 22nd overall selection.

Per Williams, the Cowboys also had interest in pass rusher Takkarist McKinley. However, the Falcons jumped past Dallas to get him with the 26th overall pick in the draft.

Anyone here who watched the war room knows the truth.

The team may have spoke to the Ravens about a trade up, the Ravens may have even initiated the call but in no way shape or form were the Cowboys disappointed in Taco.

Also---thank god they didn't trade up. Trading away picks in a draft this deep is stupid. This is the kind of draft that will define teams 5 years from now.

The Patriots will suck in a few years because they blew all their picks.

The Patriots are all in on the rest of Brady's career. Can't wait.

Can't wait to see the rest of Brady's career or can't wait till they're done? Lol

Yeah this past offseason was a very "un-Patriots"offseason. They were very aggressive with little regard for the future. It seems like Belichick has made the decision that he goes when Brady goes.

They could be the first team to win 3 straight Super Bowls(hope not) but they will fall back to reality quick in a couple years.

Sure. Belichick and Brady are taking a last shot at another SB. Thats a certainty. The Patriots are loaded up for that.

Every year I hear this garbage about how thenPats are gonna suck eventually. Just stop. Meanwhile we haven't been to a championship game in 21 years. 21 years. Let that sink in. We've went all in at least 16 times in 21 years and haven't been to even a conference championship. Stop talking about when the Patriots are gonna suck. They could lose for the next 20 years and still won't go on a streak as long as ours.

The Pats may win the next two Super Bowls but their offseason is not for a team building towards the future. That is a fact. The Patriots operated like a team with a shrinking window this offseason...that is a fact.

Anyone who says the Patriots are going to suck as long as Belichick and Brady are on their side are kidding themselves.

Why even post on this board if you're just going to bash your team? I said the Patriots are operating like a team facing a closing window and you somehow find a way to call me out and bash the Cowboys while at it. I stated a fact...there are much better things to do on a Thursday evening than call out someone for stating facts.

Let that sink in.

I don't think the talent between Harris and a Charlton is big enough to start giving up picks for.

I'm glad we stayed put.
The giving up picks part I understand.

But Harris is a superior talent IMO. At least in pure terms.

We could always justify Charlton as being something else.

I think they wanted Garrett
No shock that at 28 the player may not have been your favorite choice. No shock they would explore a higher ranked play. No doubt they are happy with the player and other players they got by staying at 28
Something for a writer to get clicks but every team in the league looked at moves, some moved, some didn't. Kinda how the process
works
Unless you are picking number one there is a good chance the player you select may not have been the player you would have liked to have had

Oh yeah, they've been one helluva dynasty but NOTHING lasts forever. They'll eventually come back down to Earth.

I almost think you're on to something when you said, "It seems like Belichick has made the decision that he goes when Brady goes". It would make sense. His knight in shining armor would be riding off into the sunset and really, what more would Belicheck have to prove? He's already cemented himself in history. Why taint it post-Brady?
