What do you guys think Leon Lett's role will be in recruiting him?

I've seen some interviews with Leon since he's been coaching for us and he's matured a lot from when he was a player. I was both surprised and impressed.

i dont know which one is worst. the few who come on every thread just to be negative, slam every decisions the cowboys make and make smart *** comments or the ones come on every thread to defend everything the cowboys do. The negative ones a definitely are more persistent.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Maybe Leon can run through the Hertz place like OJ did to get to Melton.

Maybe. What is funny about the commentary about Melton's character is that Leon Lett was not exactly a choirboy himself.

He's coming to Dallas for a visit. But it won't matter as the critics will say we settled for a lesser player if we sign him. We need him desperately.

Or the ones who try to take a neutral stance by slamming everyone.

well considering everything the cowboys do isnt wrong and everything do isnt right i would say neutral is a good place to be. Btw i said few. For the most part the forum is neutral.

meh, we ALL like Rod but this comes down to cheddah....as is always does. Still don't see what the fascination is with this guy. Solid player when he was healthy but now that he's coming off an ACL....don't see him being a big difference maker on a totally rebuilding defense. Just go young once and for ALL.

The fascination with Melton is that he's a guy with with actual starting experience who could start on any team in the league. He's not a spare who you know the team is just going to use in a rotation.

Right now the DL position is filled with a bunch of question marks. With a guy like Melton, he can takeaway at least one.

We are just at that point where if he cannot be secured, we are locked into a situation where we almost absolutely have to draft a defensive tackle in the first round, without question. That is a bad bad boat to be in.

At this stage, it is market value given the dry talent pool and like Carr, we probably will overpay, hopefully not as bad due to the injury.

But it is the cost of doing business.

At the very least, he plays one of the most important roles in this scheme and has done it at a high level before and would know the system pretty well.
