The media seems to WANT C-Mike to start. They sure talk a lot about him. I think we will be pleasantly surprised how good Michael is.

What was all this talk about CMike pounding the rock all the way to a victory this week? He ain't even starting.

It'll be interesting to see how the coaching staff breaks down the carry load for the backs. Maybe we'll see Michael at the goalline instead of Randle.

:huh:How can he prove it if never given the chance? They signed him for some reason, just insurance against injury I guess.

He's given a chance every single day in practice. It's obvious that he doesn't show enough even in patty cake time to wrest the position from Randle which is disappointing. Hopefully he gets enough carries today to show something that gets the coaches to lean the other way but considering the pedestrian level of Randle and the fact that Michael hasn't shown enough to cut into his carries is disappointing (in both Michael and Randle) to say the least.

I think you are right. Randle just can't be trusted down there. And, maybe that's the catalyst that gets Michael more involved on a regular basis.

His RB coach thinks he's doing enough per his quote last week. Garrett seems to be the hold back here. That, although carries the most weight,
doesn't mean it's correct.

For this fan, I really don't care who carries the major load. Just that by the second half, the pair of Randle and Michael are tiring out the Giant defensive line.

It was once said, that a tired great player is no match for a fresh player with less talent.m

I take a lot of those comments from position coaches with a grain of salt. He's not going to throw one of his guys under the bus, so even if he is struggling it's not going to be commented about publicly by his position coach. Linehan and Garrett obviously don't fully trust the guy (shocker, Seattle realized that they couldn't either and were thrilled to actually get a pick for the guy). I hope the guy brings us something (every Cowboys fan SHOULD) but hope isn't a strategy. His coaches realize that, also.

If they can't 'trust the guy', then why bother trading for him or are we just in the business of giving away picks?

The sad thing is that the formula was laid out last year, but we're going to go away from it with finesse running.

I'm tired of hearing about 'he hasn't shown enough in practice.' You know who was a practice marvel and looked 'much improved' this year? That's right... Brandon Weeden. They better not only give the ball to CMike 3 times and call this 'improving his workload.'

Randle is what he is. He can get huge gains when there's holes to run through, but he doesn't bring the power running game that gave this team success last year. He's a compliment back.

If you name him the starter and C-Mike comes in and has a bad game it's easier to go back to him. If C-Mike shows us something I would expect a change next week.

Exactly.

There's no real benefit to naming C-Mike the official starter right this moment. Give him more carries and see what he does with it.

All 3 of the backs are still going to get touches anyway, unless something strange happens.

I personally don't care who starts, whoever it is...someone just step up and get it done

Even when given every opportunity to prove he could replace the previous lead dog in Demarco, Randle has proven that he is what I always knew he was... A cute lil kitty cat that only comes out to play for 30 minutes per week.
