Report: Cowboys Trying To trade Trevon Diggs, Could cut The CB

I’m in favor of moving on from Diggs. Always liked Diggs but after two knee surgeries in two years and with that big contract, he needs to go.

But…I will be shocked if any team would be willing to offer any kind of pick. Why? Because if teams know he’s being shopped they also know they could get for nothing after he’s cut AND would not have to pay his big contract.
I never really liked him after it was painfully obvious he hates to tackle. His whiff against niners TE allowing them to make the big play just was bad. Not his first and not his only one.

If we get anything for him just move on

If they are moving on from him its way more likely he gets cut than traded. He is a negative asset until the guaranteed money is dry

I got the impression that the Cowboys would be better off cutting Diggs next offseason because all of his guaranteed money would be done. I know the board has turned on him but he signed a team friendly deal. Unfortunately for Diggs and the team he had two bad knee injuries.
Actually his contract gives us a small “out” this year more than next year.

Check out the details of his contract here: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/47646/trevon-diggs
It does show 2025 has an escape clause.

Some say Diggs is decent size for a CB, as in not that undersized if any...

I guess you gotta go low on kittles and roll your body, shoulder into Kittles lower half...that's still a high impact play.

I've defended Diggs for the play, as I don't care that he plays defense and tackling is requires...see Deion. I would need to hear from coaches and GM's on their opinion of true shut down corners and their use of business decisions, even in Playoff atmosphere. I would think there are a few coaches and GMs that would take a business decision making shut down corner if they could.

But, it all makes sense now. Even if this report is fake, posters are saying they are done with him because of injuries. So, Diggs trying to prolong his career by making a business decision made sense...because if this report is true...he could be out of league soon or have to take a huge discount next contract. He secured his bag before being spit out...good for him.

Except they blamed the second injury on his weak approach to rehab. If that is in fact true I'd want nothing to do with him.
Of course you are going to listen to owner driven media. I don’t think graft surgery happens because you don’t go all out with rehab the way the team wanted him too. Diggs was healthy for game one.

It might be fake . This is so not the Jones way.
You sure?

Zeke was cut after year 7, which means they only got 2 years into his giant extension salaries

Amari Cooper was traded 2 years after signing his huge new deal

Jaylon Smith was traded during the first year of his extension, 2 years after it was signed

When did Diggs sign his extension… about 2 years ago right?
