Whether or not that' true doesn't really matter. If Jerry thinks he can't make a pick if the card is absent, we may have a way to trump him without him knowing it.

We know that the [SIZE=+0]Dallas Cowboys[/SIZE] came close to drafting [SIZE=+0]Johnny Manziel[/SIZE] and we know that because Jerry Jones told us. Thanks to a new book, we now know how close the Cowboys might have been to grabbing Johnny Football.

In 'Manziel Mania,' author Jim Dent says that Jerry Jones literally had the Manziel draft card 'snatched' out of his hand before he could turn it in.

"Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones had snatched the Manziel card straight out of his dad's hand. Otherwise, Jerry would have drafted him and JFF would have sat for at least three years behind [SIZE=+0]Tony Romo[/SIZE]," Dent wrote in an excerpt provided [SIZE=+0]to the Dallas Morning News[/SIZE].

Dent seems to be a credible source on the subject of the Cowboys. The author covered the team for 11 years and [SIZE=+0]even wrote a book about[/SIZE] Jerry Jones.

I'm more than happy that they didn't get him, but there are two positives to take from this story.

1) Jerry is willing to at least THINK about drafting a QB
2) SOMEONE is willing to stand up to him sometimes
