It would just be great if we had more options than 300 bucks, take it or leave it. There was a time I would have gotten this about 15 years ago. That was when I was a football fanatic, in general. But if you mention 250 or 300 bucks, people in your house give you side glances. You want to spend 300 on football? But going to a sports bar every week and dropping close to 100 on food and alcohol, no one bats an eye. I have to believe a similar scenario plays out in a lot of households.

But ultimately it was the fact I had to get DTV that prevented me from getting Sunday ticket. Not that I think it's bad, just that it was another obstacle.

Wow Amazon came out of the blue…didn’t think they were in it but good to see.

Really hope it’s setup so you can do pay by single games
A la carte menu would be nice to have.
DTV dropped the ball big time by never allowing this feature.
They would have still made plenty of money by opening up the market to a lot of fans that would have paid 20 or 30 bucks to watch a few games rather than gouging everyone to buy the entire package.

I have to believe they'll do something like this. Or do something that appeals to a lot more people. DTV attracted just die hard fans with expendable money. Amazon will probably get their tentacles out much further to reach a lot more people. They'll still have the die hard fans.

I believe so, but just hope they don't price individual games based off of ratings, as Cowboys fans we will still get gouged.

Yes. Amazon Prime offers members the ability to save the game under a "watchlist" so you can watch the game later at a convenient time. Plus, whether watching the game 'live' or later off of your 'watchlist', you can play, pause, rewind, fast forward, plus it gives you options to review a play from a different angle along with added information about the teams, etc. It's pretty cool.

LOL!!! I would not be happy with that. It's hard to speculate on this. There are so many different directions they could go here. For example, they could charge amazon Prime members less, getting more people to get AP. There are so many different ways to draw people in.

This will be weird after almost 30 years of directv I can actually threaten to quit and do it this time:flagwave:
I gave up Dtv 3 years ago and have had zero issues watching for free online...... 4 games at a time using firesticks.

This really signals a shift in our TV viewing and where it is coming from. Two internet behemoths are taking over TV in the near future. Surprised Netflix didnt get involved.

Every prime purchase can give you credits that you can later apply to NFL games...

I dumped the season ticket about 3 years ago but have retained DTV for family members that like the user friendly experience, if it was up to me I would have cut ties.
Found a good streamer, like a firestick on steroids that allows you to stream everything conceivable for 20 bucks a month.
There is a difference though in overall visual quality, resolution, visual aspects mainly.
If you have great WIFI then streaming is the way to go, but not always available in all areas.
I only have on a good day about 80 over 13, but still manage to see all games with some slight buffering.

I hope Amazon wins the bid and offers it for free or at a low price for Amazon Prime members.

That would be nice but I don't think so. Even at $300+ on DirecTV it loses money so I am pretty sure Amazon will charge something for it. Given the money they will pay for the rights, I don't see how they can give it away to Prime members.

Prime already pays for itself, for anyone who ships on Amazon. I'm still shocked that they're willing to give free delivery of merchandise to anyone who subscribes to the channel. Brilliant!!

Does anyone watch Thursday Night Football on Prime? I really dislike it because when I watch football I flip channels during commercial breaks. I can't really do that when I watch Thursday Night Football because I get Prime through Roku and switching streaming services or flipping back to FiOS is a process. If they get the deal, the need to make sure viewers can flip from game to game easily at the very least.

They certainly won't give it away for free, that would be counterproductive to their reason for buying it. But I'm sure it would be much less expensive, and possibly come with more options (a la carte, as someone put it) to maybe pay on a game by game basis, or for one team's games.

On the other hand, they'll probably have advertisers paying them, soI suppose it's possible they supply it free, or very inexpensively to subscribers.
