All this says is dome sources say Dallas wants to sign Dak. There is absolutely nothing regarding any talks or activity. There is nothing going on, otherwise Dak wouldn’t have answered the way he did in his interviews after making his public appearances at the charity events.

No organization is going to say they don’t want to sign a QB in his last year. Jerry himself basically pointed to their expectation that Dak take the next step on MMs offense and they are optimistic.

They are going to wait it out. But they have left the door wide open to can the dude.

Doesn't really mean much. And I'm talking about the Front office leaking this.

IMO the front office is waiting till traning camp to get started on talks with CDL, Parsons and Dak.

I have a feeling they will prioritize Lamb the most as he's now in his 5th year option. Budding star at WR, still young and in his prime.
Then Parsons as he's the "star" of the franchise defensively.

I think with Dak it will come down to where France starts negotiations at. If it's going to be like last time, short term deal, no franchise tag, and wanting near top 2-3 pay, then they may let it drag out during the season/ how Lance looks in PS.
Even if Lance looks competent, I still think they will want to keep Dak, but will let the season play out before caving in-if Dak repeats a MVP level season. If France comes in with a more acceptable first offer I think they'll wrap up a new deal.

There is zero cap space.

W/ Jimmy on board and Zimmer as the DC, it's quite possible that they've talked to Jerry and have made it plain to him that pushing more salary down the road is not the answer if this is not a super bowl team. And it is not. And then add in that we took some very tough hard-nosed players in the draft, and it all really starts to make a kind of sense. Only question now is why isn't Dak on the block? I mean, if we're going to let him walk anyway, why not a pre-emptive strike?

Keep avoiding what I said.
What did I avoid? You said the same things we’ve been saying all offseason….we are soft from the top down. We aren’t serious about winning….no one avoided what you said all I did was ask a question and you avoided what I said lol.

Any new deal for Dak and Lamb will drop their cap hit for 2024. Dallas usually goes near minimum base+prorated signing bonus on their new contracts to core players. Even on Dak's first extension, his cap for 2021 was 2.75mil base+14.45mil prorated for a cap hit of 17.2mil

Any new deal for Parsons, in a simplistic example, will just add signing bonus cap hit to the 2024 cap. It would basically be an extension added to his 5th year deal, with the new signing bonus hitting over the first 5 years, ELC or not.

PS, per the 51 rule, Dallas has 12mil in cap space.

So what you are asking is when we lose to teams we should beat?

Denver multiple times
Falcons
Jets
Patriots
Bears

Thats just off the top of my head.

San Fran is the anomoly because the first year they played, they came out again FLAT and uninspired. That was a game they should have won.

This team takes off weeks when they think the team in front of them is going to lie down.

Just like GB.

I’m talking about in the playoffs of course in the regular season we will lose some games we should win. I should’ve been more clear.

Well. The Cowboys were favoured to win a few games they didnt. 2016, and San Fran, pretty sure against the Rams too.

Regardless what fans think or want , our owner is not SB or Bust.

While he’d love to win another SB, remaining relevant and interesting is enough to hype his iconic brand spurring record revenue.

And like him or not Dak provides Jethro a consistent playoff contender.
I've said the same Diehardblues several times, it's all about relevancy and the general fanbase will continue to buy into it.

Given you can count on Jerry to do the stupidest thing possible at all times, of course he's going lock up Mr Oopsie.

I agree with you that this isn’t a SB team, I’m just not sold our owner believes this.

And there could likely be an answer to your last two questions. They still intend to resign him because they do believe can win a SB with him.

I’m also not sold Jimmy is on board in the way we’d like to think so.

Yea, Dak provides Jethro a playoff contender ( not necessarily a SB contender) which is more attractive than starting over looking for the next playoff caliber QB.

What do you think Prescott's thinking if he hits free agency after this season and let's say his offers are all between 50 in 55 so the highest bidder is 55 does he allow the Dallas Cowboys to come in and pay him 55 or does he leave for that 55 somewhere else would he stay a cowboy once he knows his market and his Max money put any number in there but I'm just using these numbers...

I'm curious if we allow him to become a free agent would he be so upset at us that he just won't let us match anything and just leaves or is he a true cowboy and wants to be a Dallas Cowboys so once his market is set does he allow the Cowboys to pay what the highest bidder offered him?
Great question ;

It’s why I expect us to sign him before season begins if we truly still want him.. Once he reaches FA he might have already decided it’s time to move on if he needed to prove more.

It’s why most of the opinions I’ve read and heard here locally believe if he isn’t signed by the season , he’s done in Dallas.
