confirmed that Owner Jerry Jones still hadn't picked up the option for next season on Phillips who is in the final year of a three-year contract.

This is a truly brilliant discovery. And it is "confirmed" by "sources"!

I would love to know the "source". The person who refreshed his beer in New Orleans?

After our first touchdown, he was overheard saying "I love Miles!"

And they ran with it.

Les Miles is CERTIFIABLE.......and JJ would be too if he hired him. Article FAIL, AND THREAD FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this site is a complete joke. They put out every rumor no matter how stupid no matter what the "source".

While ND was looking for its new coach and I went to that site every day. There was more BS and Garbage then you would find in any stockyard or landfill.

My sources tell me that if this team does well in post season Phillips will be back.

We must have the same sources........

I really do not want a rookie NFL coach. This team deserves better. The college to pro conversion for coaches seldom works out.

by the way, what is everyone's beef with Stoops? I thought he was supposed to be a pretty good coach.

i watched a lsu game where Miles screwed up a simple timeout call that led to their loss,no thanks to Mr Miles.

Please hire an established proven NFL head coach. Let some air out of your ego Jerry and do the right thing.

The beef is that Stoops cannot win the big games and has had the luxury of some pretty impressive talent that he has failed with.

The one were they tried to spike the ball with 1 second left?

Stoops when he had his brother in charge of the Defense won the NC. Once his brother left they have gotten to the NC three times and got blown out each time.

What concerns me about Stoops was the same issue I had with Spurrier which is trying to bring a college style of offense to the NFL. Jimmy Johnson on the other hand came to Dallas using a pro style offense. I don't have an issue with college coaches I only have an issue with college coaches trying to bring a college approach to the NFL

My sources tell me that if this team does well in post season Phillips will be back. That is about as founded as this report. I do like Les Miles not that crazy about Stoops but if Dallas does end up with a new coach I hope he gets a fair shake by the fans and media some how I doubt that will be the case.

i am thinking this, wade must make at least 2 playoffs game wins, that will keep him around for his option year that jerry hasnt picked it up

then jerry can keep wade if he does excel and if he doesnt then i think jerry will go after stoops or miles or urban meyer

i think jerry sees that the team is starting to get older and he needs a young college coach that knows the talent for next 4 years to draft well and rebuild

I dont like either selection.

Matter of fact I hate both of them. Stoops for his ability as a coach, (not recruiter) and Miles for the ability that he's Les Miles.

2 playoff wins is unrealistic especially with a tough NFC. Making the playoffs probably keeps Wade here. 1 win will definitely keep him here and probably give him a raise.

This year there were injuries as an excuse for OU. But fact is OU's had among the most talent in the country for about 7 or 8 years now. They'll have 4 guys drafted in the first round this year 2 of which didn't really play this year. They've had a long list of NFL talent and don't win big games.

Coach Johnson really did not have any real ideas on offense, he was more of a defensive coach and his smaller, faster defense with a line running in waves at the QB transitioned very well once he got a pass rusher.

Offensively was a different story. When he failed to bring Gary Stevens with him, he had the rely on Dave Shula, and that was a disaster. It was not until Norv Turner came from the Rams did he enjoy much success offensively.

Stoops is known as a defensive-oriented coach as well. I do not think either is in the same league as Spurrier who was trying to bring his college gimmick offense to the NFL. Urban Meyer would be a fair comparison however.
