Report (Speculation): Wade needs to reach Super Bowl; Jerry likes Les Miles

That was actually a very good interview.

Yeah, but I could have done without knowing that Jerry Jones has eaten 200lbs of Lucky Dogs over the course of his life.:

if there was any doubt. Watch this.

He obviously hired him before Wade in the first place to groom him for the job. Then he made him the highest paid coordinator in the league to keep him from going to Baltimore. Obviously nothing in the last two years has changed Garrett from being HC-in-waiting.

It's no wonder some of this board's biggest homers support Garrett getting the job. They know it's a foregone conclusion and like to rubberstamp whatever move the team makes.

Bleh. Just confirms what I thought -- if we lose, Wade gets blamed. If we win, Garrett gets the credit.

Hard to compete with RJ when you have former teammates Babe and Troy in your corner, though. Loved the "Top 5 offense" line from Babe. I mean, how on earth could Garrett ever get criticized?

Seriously... That Babe quote was just homerism...

Just throwing it out there so everyone can take pinata swings at it ..... :)

Dallas Cowboys:
Our sources tell us that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones does not plan on retaining current Head Coach Wade Phillips after the 2010 season. According to our
sources Jones interest in is Les Miles (LSU Head Coach) and Bob Stoops (Oklahoma Head Coach). On December 3, FootballCoachScoop sources
confirmed that Owner Jerry Jones still hadn't picked up the option for next season on Phillips who is in the final year of a three-year contract. We have
confirmed that Jones does have interest in LSU Head Coach Les Miles (November 12). It is expected that Phillips will not be back in Dallas unless they
make it to the Super Bowl, according to our sources.

So he will be here for 2010? 2010 Season doesn't end until 2011

I definitely like those college options even less than Wade. (& I don't particularly care for Wade)

College coaches leaping to the NFL has been very successful. Miles is a freak on a leash. Weird.

I don't like Les Miles at all. He won with Saban's team but is losing a little steam now.

anyone will do, as long as Wade leaves the team...

You would seriously take Stoops or Les Miles over Wade???

No offense, but are you high???

Heck no to Miles or any college coach. Especially after the way he threw his QB under the bus in the Georgia game (i think it was) after his poor clock management.

How many "big games" has Stoops lost while having some of the best talent in the country???

And some of you guys want him to replace Wade????

HAAAAABAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAABAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

:lmao2: Bach, you are definitely one of my fave 5 around here.

I would rather keep Wade Phillips then go with a College Coach.

so you think going with another re-tread is the answer?

I did like Mike Holmgren, but he is gone now. Only other guy I like is Shanahan. After that, you risk getting another Wade or Jason Garrett.

I am not against getting some fresh blood in here from the college ranks.

I do like Les Miles, considering his history with the Cowboys, he would be a good pick I think and the crazier the better.

Does Les Miles know the 3-4??? Because he isnt going to be here to run the O.

Because Garrett isnt going anywhere. We rank in the top 5 in amost every offensive statistical category and when Jerry was interviewed by Babe he all but endorsed Garrett as being a HC in the future. So if Jerry is convinced Garrett is HC material and just needs a little more seasoning, you dam well know it is not going to be for another team.

Even if Wade is fired, Jason Garrett will run the offense and will remain "HC in waiting". You think Les Miles or Bob Stoops is going to be ok with that???

Les Miles is not going to mind keeping the seat warm for a couple of seasons until Garrett is ready to take over????

If he hires Les Miles I might turn in my fan card. Les Miles has had better players that most other schools, and this is why he has won at LSU. That will not be the case in the NFL. He can't manage the clock and has made terrible decissions at the end of games. Seriously, this would be a dang disaster with all the quality NFL coaches out there.

Nope.

Now if we could get somebody like Cowher, Fisher or Dungy, I would be on board.

If not, I would rather go with a very well respected NFL Assistant.

I just dont get why everybody is on Fisher's jock. He has been the HC in Tenn for 15 seasons and he only has 6 winning seasons. At least the other two guys have rings, Fisher has jack.

On top of that he got his panties in a wod over our scoreboard claiming it was going to be a major problem. Exactly how many punts have hit the scoreboard this year???

People wanting to fire Wade for not winning playoff games want to replace him with a guy that has had 9 losing seasons in 15 years.......amazing:rolleyes:

Edit###### Fisher was 13-3 last year, number 1 seed, and lost at home in their first playoff game. Almost a mirror image of Wade in 2007.

Disclaimer first, I do not want Stoops or Miles here! Now with that out of the way, how many games has Wade lost with some of the best talent in the NFL? Unless we WIN the Superbowl , Wade needs to go. His team has under performed, had no motivation, and has gotten the least out one of the most talented rosters in the NFL the last two years.

Really? Coming into the season most so called experts doubted that talent. TO was gone and what ever would Dallas do to without the ability to make the big plays? Romo does not have IT because he can't play in Dec. We were picked to finish 3rd in the NFC East and even some members around here predicted 5-11 to 8-8.
