I honestly didn't see this happening. With the Dolphins rebuilding, signing Glenn isn't exactly the thing to do for them. Glenn being late in his career, had made it clear several times that he had put off the surgery because he wanted to win a Super Bowl which will not happen in Miami.

I don't think it is a bad move by them. Will he be there to get the fruits of his labor, no. But he will be a good pickup at a very inexpensive price. If the Dolphins can get just two years out of him, then it is a win. If they don't, they didn't lose much.

As far as the Dolphins go, yeah, there are a lot of rebuilding teams who wouldn't want to sign aging vets. But Parcells has a different philosophy. Parcells likes Glenn's approach to the game and thinks Glenn would serve as a good model for the rest of the players. And Gynn couldn't help but to learn from Glenn.

Glenn is a football player. He has a job in Miami. He can't have many competing offers. So he'll probably go.

It'll all depend on whether or not their QB is on their roster yet. That was the delay in developing our program, if you want to call it a delay.

I doubt we're picking off their roster any time soon. We should be set for a good long time with the current roster, and we've done a good job parlaying draft picks recently. I do think Miami can turn things around quickly if they get a bit of luck at QB. I'm kind of surprised they didn't go after LeCharles Bentley.
again...that team ain't winning nothing any time soon...you can book it

I have never really understood that. Glenn's approach to the game got him suspended by Belichek in New England. That same approach got Glenn traded for cheap by the Packers. Parcells is the only one that seems to like Glenn because it sure doesn't seem like other organizations do. It just always seemed strange.

Regardless of whether he eventually agreed to sign the waiver contract or not, if he hadn't played the wait til the last minute game, he'd probably be in the Cowboys training camp right now.

And you don't need to be a medical expert to know Glenn has no cartilage left in that knee, it is public knowledge. It's only a matter of time before it gets destroyed if he sees any significant playing time with whichever team he ends up playing for.

wow....just wow....would you like to make a friendly wager? you do know they are in the same division with the pats...you do know we went 10 - 6 and made the playoffs in year 1. this team is terrible....they just got rid of their best playeyer in jason taylor...they just used the #1 overall pick on a LT....wow, just wow. Drunk of Parcells a little?

sure what do you want to bet.

First things first. Parcells didnt turn this organization around until the offseason heading into 05. 03 was a fluke and it led to a horrendous 04. He should have started tearing down in 03 but didnt. that was a mistake he made.

now onto the dolphins. Yes I think they will be much better and I think they will get some primetime games next year.

Whatever you want to bet I am game. Just let me know.

fine. but why should he pass up another season or two to play for a coach he apparantely ... GM he apparantely loves? if he can make some jack at it, great for him.

just because his time in dallas is over doesn't suddenly make him a bad guy like some are trying to do.

Brilliant, just brilliant... Terry Glenn is brought to the Dolphins to teach the team a thing or two about how to play football, because players like Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor obviously can't...

Terry Glenn was never that great, because he was almost always never healthy....

2 1000 yard seasons in what, 5 years with the Cowboys... and people think he'll produce greatness with the worst condition he has ever had in his career?

I think for Parcells it's more that he needs his eyes and ears and 'people' in the locker room. He is one of those 'comfort zone' people, and it brings him peace of mind. He's just an old school guy... a lot of the old coaches were/are that way because they started in a time before free-agency. They have a little more sense of loyalty to their people than the newer guys.

My only question about Terry is how he's going to be able to get through practice. As we all know, Parcells is old-school to the extreme about injuries: If you can walk, you can and will practice.

I don't see how Terry is going to be able to play and practice every week with that knee... And if he is able to, we shouldn't have let him go.

For Terry's sake -- because he was one of my favorites -- I hope he's not doing any more permanent damage to that knee.

Parcells is not coaching and according to him he is not going to be at every game.

Yeah me too... but you know how these guys are... they want to compete regardless (which is actually kind of ironic because Miami won't be competing for anything except not to finish in last place in the whole league).

Well, he did make his own bed.. he didn't have to exile Taylor & Thomas. So he must be prepared to accept another miserable season. I would have preferred to keep them for leadership and to actually give the defense a competitive chance, which only helps to sell seats.

Who's mad at him? I already said I wouldn't have signed the waiver either. I wanted him here, but now that he's gone, I'm just glad the fiasco is finally at its end. Time to move on... wipe away your tears my child... there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
