I have to say this and don't take it wrong, but when you decide not to be a jerk, you are one of the most intelligent, amusing and talented posters this board has ever seen.

But being a jerk is part of my mystique, Chico. I mean... if not for my jerkishness... I'd be perfect.

Sorry... had to be done.

:laugh2:

Yep, Rack is a very intelligent poster and I agree with everything he said.

Although Vince Young had a pretty decent rookie year, he was the last QB that should have been playing his rookie year.

These guys are making so much money now that teams are almost forced to play them.

Also, people are correct when they state that Bud Adams was the one who pulled the trigger on Vince Young, however, from my understanding, Norm Chow and Jeff Fisher wanted Mait Leinhart, so both were probably wrong.

On anothe note, Jay Cutler looked damned good Monday Night. That guy is going to be a heck a QB.

LMAO what? Young hasnt broken any laws

yea I think my previous comment about overreaction was pretty accurate

I think the poster was commenting that both Pac and Vince were top 5 picks that have not panned out for the Titans. I do not think anybody would argu that Vince has not panned out compared to the hype surrounding him after the Rose Bowl.

If you draft a QB in the top 5 and three years later your head coach has to call the meto police to put an APB out for your franchise QB because he is so jacked up in the head everybody is scared he might try to hurt himself, I think it is safe to say he has not lived up to expectations, wouldnt you agree?

Let me see I'm a little stunned by the "I told you so's" and negativity towards Vince Young from this board. Vince has issues it is clear. But take away the money, and professional sports are a microcosm of our society. We need to remember that we owe it to our fellow man to try and be empathetic to people that are hurting for whatever reason.

Vince is a talented young man that is having trouble right now, but he is still maturing and deserves space if he needs it. I don't think we have heard the last of Vince Young as a football player either. No the stats are not there, but he WINS when he plays.

Call me sentimental, but I believe the MVP of the greatest college football game I've ever seen, and the greatest single performance by a college football player in a national championship game or perhaps any game- deserves more support and respect.

Good luck Vince Young. Keep your chin up.

The Texans don't look so foolish for passing on Young, Bush and Leinhart now; I was among those that thought they should've gone with Bush and Young and must confess I was wrong.

I have to admit that I was LMAO at the Texans for passing on Bush and Young both. I figured Lienert would be a bust, too hollywood at USC for my taste. Seemed he liked to party too much and enjoyed "being the QB instead of playing QB" if you get what I am saying.

Sorry Texans, my bad.

And there were many "experts" on this board that thought Young was as good as Tony Romo.

Send him to Miami to be with Parcells. Can you imagine Vince Young after all of Parcells' mind games?

Many people forget that even football players can go thru depression. Playing football making millions does not immune anyone from being people like the rest of us. He may have lost some passion of the game and it just makes it that more difficult to play when you don't want too anymore. He did take classes this past offseason, so he may have just missed being one of the kids etc. It does not help to have the weapons the Titans provide at WR either :D. Nevertheless I wish him the best of luck on what he decides to do and stay out of trouble. I hear the Texans calling, they sure can't get any worse :p:.

Exactly...

It could be a case of depression that VY suffers from. His mother did mention he went through a lot of troubles growing up, so she did seem to connect his fragility to the past. And the Titans also took a psychologist, which shows that they think he may have bigger problems then just being to mentally weak to play football.

Depression is a serious psychological disorder, and how he is acting in football may just be part of a bigger problem.

If the texans drafted vince young he'd have andre johnson to throw to and I think he'd be a little better with andre johnson than he would bo scaife being his #1 target. Honestly kevin walter and andre davis are better than any WR on the titans. If I was a QB in my 3rd year in the league and my receivers were still Justin McCareins, Justin Gage, I'd be a manic depressant as well.

p.s. LOL at the people who say VY should be tearing **** up with a great defense and a run game, yeah those really help your passing stats.

18-11 as NFL starter

and he's still improving. Fyi, he is a 3rd year QB

Not to mention "Jaws" from BSPN I believe at one point he said Young was in the "Top 5 quarterbacks" last season. The guy has 10 more interceptions than touchdowns.

But what do you expect, Jaws knows nothing about football, he thinks McNabb is one of the best to every play the game.

I was not one of those.

I wouldnt have drafted him in the first place, especially in the first rd.

I dont believe for one second that the Titans are in anyway planning, or preparing, to go on without him once he's healthy. Unless he outright up and quits prior to his return, thus forcing them to move on without him, he'll be right back in the starting lineup the moment he's healthy.

Can you even name another QB that has had good passing stats with receivers like McCareins and Gage as #1 and 2 besides tom brady? (hits stats were solid not great with those guys btw, then look at him once he got moss and welker)

I've been a bit shocked at Vince's struggles, mostly at his seeming inability to deal with the mental aspect... in college, he rose to the occasion in the biggest games (Ohio State, USC), leading me to believe he had some "clutch" in him... I knew he needed work on his mechanics, but I thought he had that elusive intangible called being a winner...

Haven't seen it so far in the pros, though... Rack is right, he might have been ruined by being thrown into the fire before he was ready... he wouldn't be the first QB that happened to...
