Resigning Miles Austin

Siavii? Did he even get a snap against Philly?

Yes, according to Pro Football Focus, Siavii played 10 snaps on Saturday, which is about what he got during the regular season (10.4 snaps per game).

Not for us. He didn't go to a Pro Bowl until his third season in Miami.

I know but we could see he would get it.
Just bad he was hurt in his last years with us.

Wow, I guess he was playing each time I was going to the fridge get a beer.

you don't even "stir the pot" well. Look at how little controversy you have generated. If you are "stirring the pot" you need to generate 200+ post threads and be committed to taking a stab at a decent argument.

you need to sit back, watch some of the masters at stirring the pot and come back when have some game b/c right now your game wouldn't even play on some lame *** ESPN board.

awwww...im just too lazy to put much effort into it with any kind of consistency, sorry to disappoint.

NYC,

Seriously, is it not time for a new sig?

You don't have to call him an elite coach, but you got to have some confidence in his team abilities.

Nobody thought that when he left. He started all 16 games in his final season with us and didn't have a single interception, sack or forced fumble. He didn't have an interception, sack or forced fumble the year before, when he started 10 games, either. Most people figured he was like James Washington or George Teague (or Larry Brown), all of whom left in free agency and were busts for their new teams. Marion was playing in a secondary with Deion Sanders, Kevin Smith and Darren Woodson, and nobody considered him anywhere close to their level.

So this mean I'm not Nobody.... thank you ;)

Actually there were people on here who did.

Hey i've been driving the Miles Austin Bandwaggon for about 2 years now but I never envisioned him being this good.

I mean I thought he'd be good but never thought he'd be superstar good.

Same here. I thought he'd be at about 1,000 yards a year. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks to the Roy deal, Austin's agent is going to have serious leverage.

Austin deserves to get paid like the Fitzgeralds, Marshalls, and Waynes of the world - but I hate having 15-20 million per tied up in the WR position. Especially considering we're still paying T.O.

Off the books starting next season, so really just fill Miles in on T.O's deal and frontload it (and make it longer) since their will be no cap next season.

Simple solution: franchise him. He gets paid well next year. The Cowboys get to see him play one more year to verify that he is no one-year fluke. Then sign him long term. The franchise would require any interested team to pony up two 1st rd picks.

A first and a third, someone may offer. Cowboys could match, though.

Someone may offer two first round picks...

and ask him, if Miles wants to be franchised do it, if he says even "well..." then hell no, he saved our season if he wants to be paid 12m for the next 5 seasons, I expect to see Jerry Jones' name signing the contract.

It doesn't matter. Only the stupidest teams in the league trade good young players. Those 2 first rounders are unlikely to get you another WR as good.

I know, I meant to say it in a fearful way.

I wouldn't take the first pick in every draft from 2010 to 2020 for Miles.

Has anyone considered that this is probably going to be a no cap off season.
If I have this right, (please correct me) Jerry could pay Miles loads of $$ up front and very little on the backend. None of the up front money would be counted against the cap when the new players contract is signed.

From what I hear, Jerry will be a little handicapped by the Cowboys being a top 8 team, on signing other teams free agents, but not our own.

I would say get it done, Jerry! Give him the money up front, and pray that he keeps working as hard as he has in the past.
