Rest starters or go for 12 wins?

Thing is, you can't rest everyone. If you sat all the starters, you'd have 31 players left. Its not like preseason, where you have 75 players. So how do you tell some players they have to play, but others get to rest? No, let them play with the guys they're used to playing with. They could be more liberal with substitutions, but unless someone really needs to sit, play them.

Okay fine. So tell them all to go play. Let the OL block for the same guys they have all year. Let the receivers catch passes from the starting QB. Let the DBs play with the starting LBs. If there's a player that really needs to rest, fine. Otherwise, if you're good to go, you're getting paid. Go play.

Once again, with the exception of DeMarvelous, we should play our starters for the 1st half to try and establish grounds for that 12th win. We still do have a chance for a 1st rd bye and shouldn't shut it down with that still looming..

I disagree big time. How would you feel if Romo got sacked and hurt his back and couldn't play in the playoffs? All because you want some silly 12th win that literally means nothing. Jason Garrett is dumb though, so he certainly will be playing all of the starters. Gotta get that rushing record for Demarco and gotta try and get that 12th win.

It's less about the 12th win and more about continuity. Ok? Ok..

I think the continuity is very high right now. No reason to bring out your starters against a trashy Commanders team that would love nothing more than to injure a player. They are treating this game like their super bowl. They will blitz the hell out of Romo... do we really want to see him look like a deer in the headlights again?

For the emotional fans, wanting to see the starters play comes down to selfish reasons. #1. Wanting to get a 12th win, #2 Wanting to see Murray break the rushing record, #3. Don't want to see Washington sweep us, #4. Want to see their favorite player pad their stats. None of these reasons justify us playing our starters.

It's been shown ad nauseam in threads here that we do NOT have to win the Washington game to get that bye regardless what your bolded part says.

Although, I disagree with his opinion on playing the starters, the scenarios he presented are accurate for us getting a first round bye. But they would also be equal to winning the lottery. The best odds we have would be both Seattle and Arizona losing which would make us the #2 seed REGARDLESS of if we win or lose vs Washington. All other odds are insanely astronomical.

I guess we'll see how the Cowboys approach it on Sunday. We haven't been here in a very long time. Arbitrarily resting people makes me nervous. The whole redstinks playing ditty argument doesn't make any sense to me. They had an equal chance to play that way as spoilers for the Eagles and they played straight up. Screw records. I'm just nervous about going into our first playoff game off kilter. This team has never been where they are right now before as a team. They need as many opportunities as they can get to maintain momentum. I hope the starters are allowed to ball on Sunday. All game? No... One half? I would love to see it. (Minus Demarco)
