Return of the bandit

I'm a big time trans am guy.

I had black 1979 with gold eagle.
I bought a gold 79 and painted it burgundy.

I later bought a 1990 GTA.

I always wanted a 1989 Indianapolis trans am. It was $40k back in 1990. Never got it.

I really want Pontiac to truly bring back trans am again.

I'm not sure I like this version. I get it. Special edition for Burt.

Doing a custom build off a 1990 body is on the back burner... One day I'll do it.

funny, visually I feel the same way... although the black and gold is hot.
its the nostalgia that got me...

Love my '79.

58k original miles on it. Got it from my dad when I turned 16. Still driving it today.

That's me at 6 years old.

As far as the thread topic, I guess it's the closest we can get to an actual T/A. Almost had a chance to meet Burt here in Tampa recently as they were doing a screening of Smokey and the Bandit at our downtown theater. Would've loved to get a picture of him next to my car.

That is sweet, would you take 10 grand, an ex wife and a old dog for it perhaps?

Wait a sec, he just said in 78 the maximum HP was under 200? I don't believe that for a bit unless I heard something wrong. EDIT* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_V8_engine#400_T.2FA_6.6 Guess I was incorrect, still thought it would have been pushing more HP than that.

Yeah, they had to use the four-speed car to do the burnouts and second-gear rubber. They even had to do an engine swap for the bridge jump I believe.

These big blocks were way de-tuned back in the late 70's while in the gas crisis.

I'm still trying to keep mine all original, but I would love one day to liven up the Pontiac 400.

A heavy, slow engine.

First thing I did was put a 350 Chevy in it.
