I may drink heavily during this game.
Smart man !!!
I may drink heavily during this game.
He dropped DE Jack Crawford in coverage on the RB while Lee blitzed in the Atlanta game and the RB caught the ball and had one of the biggest yardage gains of the game.
No kidding, after the alt game fans went off on Weeden for the dinks and dunks. This game he still hit a lot of short passes but also went deep something some were claiming Weeden was incapable of. I guess Weeden is going to be ripped no matter what
Yeah ... well he missed a couple of open receivers deep as well that would have changed the game.
Can't hit them all, sorry I feel Weeden is playing fine, I don't see the issues the Cowboys are having as a Weeden problem I do see a defense who fails to tackle who allows a RB to be wideopen running untouched in OT. I think coaches will open things up a bit more for Weeden and hopefully with guys starting to come back on defense things will turn around.
Brees did exactly what Weeden should have been doing. He threw 5 to 7 yard pick routes and out routes all game. Eventually the Cowboys rushers were exhausted. Why Weeden can't do that all game is beyond me. Without the ball control of the Romo led offense, this defense is in serious trouble.
The Patriots are going to do nothing but what Brees did all game long, only better.
Here's a preview of Brady's stats;
36-42 315 4TDs with a 2/3rds TOP edge.
He's going to have a 80% completion percentage throwing underneath to little WR's Carr will naturally play 10 yards off all game. Not very excited about this week.
If you can't see Weedon missing open receivers deep as a problem then you might have issue. Part of the reason that defenses creep up and stop the run and tackle the short passes is because he can't hit the deep receiver.
Are you saying someone got beat? Tell me something new.
You want to stop short quick passes. You blitz and run press. Or you zone blitz. Otherwise, you can just get your lunch eaten all day long.
Make a choice.

this internet message board poster knows how to QB AND coach in the NFL!
do you have a job in the NFL yet?
I don't think we have pick routes in our playbook, its illegal so JG wouldn't even consider it

Because our fan base Weeden haters will say he is a dink and dunk QB.....
ok, let me take a stab at this. Pick/rub routes, all routes for that matter, are called in by the OC. So if you want to the Cowboys to run pick/rub routes and/or out routes, that's on the OC and not Weeden. Unless he calls an audible. Weeden wasn't our problem in either game he played. Not sure why some of you want to put all/most of the blame on him.
he was not missing many passes nor has he since he took over. There is an issue and that is people who will not and have not given Weeden a chance. All you guys have done since he came to dallas is berate him and that is fine but it hard to look at something with a non bias view when your view point was made up a long time ago. Weeden thus far has helped not lead but helped this team. We put up 28 vs Alt we put up 20 vs NO. All I hear is he should do more yet the defense has played like crap they have done nothing to help an offense and the injury while they do effect the defense they still should be expected to do something.
You're confusing me with someone else. I haven't been one of those Weedon bashers. You can search my post history if you want. I'm not a huge supporter but I haven't been against him either. What I did notice is that in the 2.5 games that he has played THIS year, he has not been able to consistently challenge the deep field. Yes he hit Williams in the end zone on that TD but he missed 3 other potential game breaking plays in that game alone. The dialogue is that these receivers need to get open for him... well the opposite is also true in that when they get open, he needs to be able to hit them. Thats when things will open up for us underneath and that's when we stand a chance to win.
We've been spoiled with Romo since 2006. Had Weeden succeeded somebody like Quincy the fan reaction would've been different. Romo is the great deodorant that masks his teamates shortcomings. Weeden is just not as good yet. Although I fully expect him to get better and better as he gets more playing time. Can't hit them all, sorry I feel Weeden is playing fine, I don't see the issues the Cowboys are having as a Weeden problem I do see a defense who fails to tackle who allows a RB to be wideopen running untouched in OT.
