We've been spoiled with Romo since 2006. Had Weeden succeeded somebody like Quincy the fan reaction would've been different. Romo is the great deodorant that masks his teamates shortcomings. Weeden is just not as good yet. Although I fully expect him to get better and better as he gets more playing time.

This week will be different since our D gets a major shot in the arm with the reinforcements. It's a team sport, it's everybody that has to raise their level of play while Romo is out.

I felt the same about every QB that stepped in for Aikman. What I expect out of Tony is a lot what I expect from Weeden? manage the game, aka bus driver, Team has to step up and help and I don't see where the defense has done their part in this.

Brees did exactly what Weeden should have been doing. He threw 5 to 7 yard pick routes and out routes all game. Eventually the Cowboys rushers were exhausted. Why Weeden can't do that all game is beyond me. Without the ball control of the Romo led offense, this defense is in serious trouble.

The Patriots are going to do nothing but what Brees did all game long, only better.

Here's a preview of Brady's stats;

36-42 315 4TDs with a 2/3rds TOP edge.

He's going to have a 80% completion percentage throwing underneath to little WR's Carr will naturally play 10 yards off all game. Not very excited about this week.

carr sucks. We get him to be a in your face man corner and he comes here and plays 10 yards off everyone even on 3rd and 1 smh.

Ugh so now you want Weeden to do the very thing people ripped him for the week prior. :facepalm:

There's no winning for this guy. He clearly was more aggressive in this game and put us in position to put up 28 points just like Atlanta and now people are saying he should've been copying Brees and dinking and dunking. He didn't turn the football over. He was incredibly efficient on the final drive and overall for the game as well. I just don't know what more people want from the guy. Weeden is a backup quarterback. He's not gonna go out there and just light teams up that's why he's a backup. He's not like Romo where he's just gonna make something out of nothing and keep plays alive. He doesn't possess the overall football IQ of a Tony. Neither do most quarterbacks. Can't fault him for that.

There are so many other issues with this team. A depleted defensive line that was dead tired and gassed and couldn't get any pressure on Brees in the second half. They can't create takeaways like they did last season. Can't get off blocks in the run game. Offensive line is struggling to contain the backside when we're trying to run the football. Receivers struggling to break free of coverage. If there is not a big gaping hole the backs can't get any dirty yards. Everything is congested right now. That'll change when Dez gets back, but for right now this is the way things are. The Cowboys have no deep threats to take the top off a defense. Their #1 reciever can't catch with his hands. Their most reliable wideout is a 5"8 slot reciever. Witten is being double teamed. Street can't run. Doesn't even know how to stay in bounds. Butler is one dimensional. Escobar is on the shelf. Yet and still everything is Brandon's fault. Only a backup for the Dallas Cowboys can engineer a late game tying drive with no #1 wideout or real play makers only to see the defense torched on back to back drives and still be blamed.

If I'm NE I'd stack 8 in the box. Best corner on Terrance. Don't worry about anything deep. Stop the run and know that weeden will always take the sack rather than throw it away. Also don't worry about any fake punts, onside kicks ect.

Also don't worry about street, Clutts, or Hanna.- Cowboys won't throw to them much. If witten catches the ball make sure you touch his shoes, he will fall immediately. If you line up and u see Wilcox or church on you raise your arm up to let tom know this is auto 6 pts.

And if you hurry it up you are bound to catch the Cowboys with either 10 or 12 guys on the field at least once in the game.

I could use an avatar of my arms too but I don't want people afraid to debate me.

My apologies to you. I'm not claiming he has not missed some passes but he threw 3 over 19 yards on each and capped it off on a 4th down in the endzone in the final mins to put this team into OT. I don't think he has missed many of his targets. Weeden biggest problems since he came to the NFL has been decision making and I think a lot of the reason the coaches have kept things simple. He does not lack accuracy or arm strength what gets him in trouble is making poor reads. I think that is something you can work with and improve on.

I agree that he has a strong arm, however, accuracy to the left is not in dispute.. It's horrible and I'm hoping he can get it better. This game is not entirely on him. I apologize if it seems I'm blaming him. But he could definately help our cause by not missing them or the open receivers down the seam. I know that he is a backup but so technically is Williams and half of the rest of our current starters. If we need them to step up in order to stand a chance then the same onus is on him. We need him to make some of those throws and make better reads... quicker. We also need more defensive linemen so they don't get gassed at the end of the game... which Weeden and a better passing game can also help. It's all interconnected. :D
