other than having a "different" name, I dont see why anyone would be anymore excited over him than anyone else...not saying he wouldnt be good, just saying he is no more proven or qualified than some of the other names being thrown around

Michael Smith of ESPN just reported on NFL Live that the Cowboys have started to look into Ryan's background and could be in the process of lining him up for an interview.

Now, THAT would be awesome. I'm intruigued by Garrett's potential, but I'm very impressed by Ryan's production the last couple of years. Getting both of them would be amazing.

Philo Beddoe should be happy since Ryan was at OU for a spell. Hopefully, that will end his incessant ramblings about failed OU guys getting interviews.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the prime candidate for defensive coordinator if Rex was head coach would probably be Mike Singletary.

True, but I know Ryan didn't start Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in a playoff game. I know that much.

I just prefer Ryan to Phillips...Doesn't mean I don't like Phillips.

One guy coached the leagues #1 defense

The other guy coached the #10 unit

The Cowboys' biggest issue is a broken defense

Why not get the guy who did the best job coaching it?

Phillips has had and blown two opportunities already

Why not give a younger, more energetic guy his first chance?
