I'm not as down on Moore's ability as others, I guess. I see a guy that can be a very effective dink&dunk game manager and go .500 if Dak goes down. RG3? Hell no.

RGIII and Out is no more an upgrade to Moore than Sanchez was. Fits, though, is intriguing if he's looking for a long term backup gig.

Moore can competently run an NFL offense ie make line calls and adjust routes at the los followed by reading through his progressions and making the right reads. He does have a noodle for an arm but I would rather have that then vice versa like you see with RG3.

I'm with @robjay04 in wanting Fitzpatrick but he is likely to be too expensive. He is still on the market though.

And competently fail.

Don't want to side track it, but to say him not kneeling during an anthem to protest is non-Patriot is dumb. He's done more for charities and causes he's believed in than most. Soldiers faught for peoples freedom to not have to kneel, this isn't a dictatorship. And standing for the anthem has never been about supporting or not supporting the armed forces...atleast not up here in Canada.

Anyway, RG3 has a huge ego, I just don't see him taking a small contract to be a backup. Plus I don't think he could help groom Dak in any positive way

The armed forces of the USA are the reason you're not speaking German.

None of you guys has this right. Linehan loves Moore and Linehan just signed an extension. The FO is going to go with Moore to be the backup
this season just like they were last season before his injury. You might as well wrap your heads around this because Moore knows Linehan's offense
and he's sold him to Garrett so there's no use crying about it now.
yes and if he plays he will be better than he was in 2015.
Plus doubtful dak is out with injury more than a few plays,, or 1 game.

I don't think Moore is good enough. Kaepeenick would probably be an upgrade but I do not ever want to see that POS in a Cowboys uniform.

Futz would be an upgrade over Moore if the price was right. I would really like to see us add another QB in the draft if the grade lines up as BPA.

Well km American and your stance is silly.

do you think it's silly he didn't even vote? In any event, I don't think CK uses good judgement with his play either not to mention him and the Dallas Cowboys (aka America's team) not being such a great match.

Rather Moore than RGIII as well

I'll always root for Kellen, and I think he's smart(talked to him once or twice), nicest guy you'll ever meet. Used to do a bunch of anti smoking ads here in Idaho...but the QB with the most wins in college ever, is still like a Jason Garrett lite. Smart, will find the open guy, but can he get it there? Not sure. Rather have him than RGIII, though, he showed up for us in a few games before he got hurt. Would I like a better backup? Yes, but we could do worse.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to come across so rash, I sort of rushed through a reply while at work. But the NFL didn't even have players stand for the anthem until a few years back when the Army paid the league to have players do it, to look more patriotic.

What Kaepernick did was never meant to dishonor the armed forces, people just started that rhetoric because it's easy to get the masses on their side when you say someone is trying to disparage the men and women fighting abroad. He was soley pointing out the US wasn't doing enough to stop discrimination against blacks, something no one can deny. I've never been a Niners fan or cared much for him, but I appreciated he tried to do something to bring his point across

I mean people like Trump are glad he's still unemployed because of this rhetoric, even though Kaep has spent a lot of money towards charities, and imo is a lot more patriotic than that draft dodging, silver spoon fed coward.
Very well said.

Colin Kaepernick has way more upside. As to RGIII, his looks would scare the little children in
Texas. You don't want to scare the little children, do you?
Whats a " Non Patriot" by definition? Is ut someone who never played for New England

No to both. I would hate to see either disgrace the Cowboy uniform!

Many of us here fought for others rights to self express their opinions. That includes both sides.

Yes, yes you may certainly express your opinions and that right was paid for in blood. Just remember that your right to express them does
not preclude others who disagree with you to express theirs and dump on you all they want. It always goes both ways. That's true freedom!

Look, I can pull up a video showing they were standing in the 60's. Might want to get the facts right about that standing for the anthem part.

Edit: because I'm sure proof will be asked for, I'll go ahead and post it:

To be completely honest, I'm not sold on either RG3 nor Kellen Moore as the Cowboys answer at backup QB. Inasmuch as I like Moore's knowledge of the Dallas offense, I'm sorry to say I have serious reservations that his arm is strong enough to prevent the opposition from taking advantage of his floating tosses beyond anything considerably farther downfield than a dink or dunk. INTs are simply too easily made against him.

I'm honestly hoping the Cowboys see fit to either draft a reasonably promising rookie or acquire a decent veteran to supplant him. As much as I admire Dak and his physical fitness, it only takes one hit to take any QB out for several important games in any given season. The Cowboys just should not be willing to risk that misfortune. (jmho)
