Rico snaps

Very few but Rico did an outstanding job blocking at the goalline to cave in the left side to help Bo run over the goalline for a TD.
I'm glad someone else noticed Rico absolutely obliterating that guy at the point of attack on the goal line to allow Bo an avenue to score. He will get kudos for that in the film room. Next game, I think they start to unleash Rico the beast in the passing game.

I hope they start unleashing Rico. To me, for the few times he played, he made the best run block out of all TEs. That goal line performance to help Bo showed Rico is improving on his run blocking. Totally collapsed inward that left edge. Impressive. The other TEs have yet to block that dominating in any run play.

It's all about the blocking, Rico. Learn to block and you make the field. Particularly with the other TEs failing to block well.

Can’t figure out if he is now a shoe in to make the team and they are seeing who else makes it with him or if they have already written him off. Not many snaps last night.

He did well in his 1 snap. Lol. Maybe he gets more time with the 1s as the preseason goes. But the way they played him with the 3s last night didn’t look good for him.
The coaches need to start giving Rico much more chances than a handful of plays.

That’s what leaves me wondering. Is he on the bubble? Or have they seen enough and playing him like a starter. But that can’t be because the only snaps I saw him getting were with the third team. Maybe next week he works with the 1s and 2s.

I also noticed on another one of his snaps, he ran a route but chipped the end on the way out. His "chip" pushed the end inside to our guard. Dude has some power.

I hope so. I would hate for the Cowboys to be building him up, only to let him go and watch him play well elsewhere. A TE with his size could become a good weapon to have in various situations.

The coaches hate him.

He'll make some other teams roster and we'll have our Geoff Swaim out there being the AVG player that he is.
If they hate him, how is he still on the team? They have had PLENTY of opportunities to cut him.

I've been critical of gathers because he's really not done much if anything outside of preseason action, but I hope he continues to develop and get opportunities.

That's why blocking has always been the no brainer path to the roster for Rico. He's got a huge size and strength advantage over other TEs. Blocking is where it's easiest to press that advantage.
