Rico time?

The fascination is his tools and what the Cowboys chose to pay him. The last guy they paid and treated like that off the practice squad was Ronald Leary.
but is the playoffs a good place for him to get his start?

yea not playoff time, imagine he catches it and fumbles. Man this board would implode. With all the stuff I'm hearing I do believe he will be ready next year.

Well no. And it's very unlikely to happen. This story is one of he ones i'll be least interested in following leading up to our game this weekend.

i dont get the fascination with this guy.
He has zero NFL experience. I really dont think the playoffs is a good place for him to start

I don't think many are fascinated with him but the team is getting nothing from the TE spot behind Witten. It is hurting them in the run game. If he can block better than what they have and at least be a decoy in the redzone, I say go for it. If the reports of him being vastly improved are true, he could be an added asset the rest of the way.

He's in the most optimal situation possible for a TE.

He's got one of the all time best TE coaches and he's got a future HOF'r to watch in practice every day.

Plus he's just got freakish size.

Do I think he's ready? Probably not but this is a guy to watch in the future.

was just a little surprised Jerry hinted he may. I have to learn."dont take anything from Jerry at face value"

Apparently, based on comments from defensive players via 105.3 The Fan, he catches everything and is hard to cover. They love the way he competes. Whether he is ready for prime time is a different matter, though.

next year I'm all for him. Playoffs for this year-dont think so

In Sturm's breakdown of the week 6 win over Green Bay he showed how much success the Cowboys had running out of 12 and 13 personnel. Maybe they have enough trust in his run blocking assignments that they'll decide to activate him. As others have said I don't know if it's wise to play a guy as green as Rico in the playoffs.

Why not, he couldn't be any worse than Escobar.

Not this year.

Jerry doing what Jerry does.

I just hope his words of praise doesn't get a young talent pilfered from this team's practice squad. I'm not sure what the rules are on those guys at this point, but I hope this doesn't expose this possible huge talent to being lost.

Anytime is the right time if he is now in the top 45 and is capable of doing what you will ask him to do.

Playoffs??? a lot to ask for someone who hasnt taken 1 snap in a real game. last thing I want to see is him cost us the game with 2 minutes left. Let him break in in next years preseason
I also feel good about the offense. Would rather see someone on the other side get called up

Yeah, let's try him as a pass rusher...lol
Well, I do remember him saying that he wanted to play either tight end or defensive end in the NFL... maybe he's making the switch as we speak. lol.

I would like to see a move made for a blocking tight end somehow, but it's likely too late at this point anyway.

Just use Collins in that role, and run jumbo. We run probably 85% of the time in that situation anyway.
