Rico time?

I just hope his words of praise doesn't get a young talent pilfered from this team's practice squad. I'm not sure what the rules are on those guys at this point, but I hope this doesn't expose this possible huge talent to being lost.
:hammer:

If another team makes a claim on a PS player, the team can block it by activating him.

I have a feeling the Cowboys would activate him rather than letting him get away.

I think people are really wanting to see Tony Gonzalez part 2 in this guy.

I admit I'm interested in seeing how he develops (if he does), but there's no way in hell he is anywhere near ready, especially for the playoffs. It would be a waste of a roster spot.

Have any of you seen him in practice? Just curious how any of us that is not at practice every day know how ready he is or isn't.

I'd certainly hope so.

The guy hasn't played football since middle school.

It's not really a stretch to think it's going to take some time to get him to play at an NFL level. Not just catching, but blocking, route running, etc. Even just understanding the venacular of play calling. He has to learn everything from scratch.

Use him only on defense in Hail Mary Situations. Just plant him at the back of the endzone and instruct him to knock the ball down

I am not totally disagreeing with you, but in reality none of "us" know where he is in his development. We can speculate all day but we don't know how hard he has studied the play book, worked after practice ...

Teams that are eliminated cannot sign players from other practice squads. If they could, it would be a free for all. It would have to be one of the 8 remaining teams which is not going to happen.

I thought so, but I feel a bit better hearing it from someone else too, thanks.

Admittedly, I haven't heard a thing about him from the team since the offseason (aside from this recent Jerry blurb).

But even without knowing how he's been looking in practice, it just doesn't seem plausible that a rookie who - a) hadn't played organized football since he was 13 years old and b) hasn't been active during the regular season - will suddenly be activated for the playoffs, much less make an impact.

However, stranger things have happened this year!

Just a note, also overheard Fish (The Fan) say he is fast enough to run the jet sweep. Apparently he tied Lucky (arguably the fastest Cowboy) in a 100-yard race with 20-yard head start. Wouldn't that be a sight!
A 280 pound guy running a jet sweep? Lol!

How would you like to be the CB defending THAT?

Deion would have been running for the exits.

i dont get the fascination with this guy.
He has zero NFL experience. I really dont think the playoffs is a good place for him to start
Nor does he have collegiate, or even high school experience. I can't imagine that the coaches would think he's ready.

Just to clarify, Fish was referring to Collins -- he raced Lucky -- if they decide to activate him over Rico. He would supposedly replace Looney as a backup TE.

OK. My comments would be the same regarding Collins too.

Deion would be hailing a taxi as Collins went around the corner.

I probably would be too.

Thats ok just do like most fans do and get on the bandwagon late. If you can't see the fascination though you might just be blind or worse. Lol

yea not playoff time, imagine he catches it and fumbles. Man this board would implode. With all the stuff I'm hearing I do believe he will be ready next year.
Who cares about what the board thinks? We just regular people that have no connection to the inside dealings of the Boys. If they think he can help ill trust them more than anyone of us.
