If you activated Collins and if another position is needed, then you would have to waive Cooper unnecessarily.
If you activated Gathers and if another position is needed, then someone has to be waived also...

I guess the advantage here would be that he would theoretically know the playbook better than some dude off the street.

the coaches keep saying defending the hail mary is a matter of boxing out and rebounding like in basketball. I would imagine Rico would be the hail mary killer, but I guess they don't deem it worth of a roster spot.

If they were going to use an offensive player on defense to defend the Hail Mary in theory it should be Dez. He gets paid 70M to make contested catches.

Broaddus asked a scout a few weeks back, they said there's nothing available in free agency when it comes to a blocking TE. Said you can find some that catch, but nothing out there for blockers. Surprising
