***Rip Garrett Thread***

you want to blame Romo have at it, cant defend him. To dumb to know its ok to throw the ball away. But when you blame the OC because your QB throws the ball into double coverage not once but twice. I can almost say ok on the jumped slant but it was jumped so early cant even give him a pass on that one

Overall, jason garrett sucks because he's not balanced enough, he's always getting into a passing freenzy, knowing Romo isn't a great Quarterback and he is mistake prone.

This need to be corrected. Romo needs to get treated like Jon Kitna and get more Running plays called.

The stupidity of our fan base never ceases to amaze me. And I do mean STUPID.

Haha I was waiting for this clown to get all offended and whine about how he knows football more than people who criticize Garrett. Your questioning the football knowledge of others? That's cute.

As pointed out, Wade was hammered for these types of losses.

Why does Red get a pass?

How about lets pay attention to the details of each game. When Garrett deserves to be ripped, lets rip him. I'll help you. But to rip him today is just hindsight is 20/20 stuff. This one is on a very undisciplined QB.

I am sure Hoss will be on here to defend his messiah. But today he screwed up in not trying to run the ball more when it counted. He tried to use the same plays that Detroit were defencing differently in the second half and that is on him. Romo threw bad picks no doubt, but we should not have been throwing anything except safe passes up 24 points. Running the ball; using up the clock. Red Ball never seems to quite get that.

There's no patience with him.

His lack of experience continues to show.

Even when the running game is working, he won't stuck with it.

Up by 24 and their offense was doing nothing. Still have to sling it.

He just loves him some pass plays...

:banghead:

1992 - Dallas in San Francisco, NFC Championship game... SF has just scored to make the game tight... the fans are going crazy... not that much time left in the game...

YOU WOULD SAY... RUN THE BALL!!!! TAKE TIME OFF THE CLOCK!!!

Jimmy Johnson said, "I want to score". The result?

A highlight play that you will watch for years and years... Aikman to Harper... we won.

You guys only know one thing, what YOU would have done AFTER the fact. Right in the midst of the run, run, run, talk, Romo hit Witten today for 37 yards and there wasn't a single one of the complainers saying a word.

Hey look, I'm as much against after-the-fact Monday Morning Quarterbacking as your are.

But I think some awareness of the situation is called for in a case like this. The team was collapsing underneath itself, and our quarterback had thrown two pretty costly interceptions. It's not a terrible idea to not ask that same quarterback to save the day with a hero play.

I understand that he was taking a gamble and trying to catch the defense off guard, but we really needed to chew some time off the clock and set Romo up with a manageable 3rd down. Not put him in a position to make a hero play on 1st and 10 when he was obviously struggling.

I'm not calling for Garrett's head, but it sure would have been nice to see some situational awareness out of him there.

The truth is what I've said. A lot of the fan base on this board doesn't know a thing about football, and you lead the pack.

I didnt, I blamed the players. still do. But apparently your showing a trend. Dont blame the brain dead player blame the coach.

It stuns me how much slack Cowboys fans cut Jason Garrett. Already in this thread people are quick to rush and defend him. Never before have I seen a Cowboys player or coach who can do no wrong like Garrett.

This loss is on him as much as Romo. We were running the ball great in the second half but he continued to neglect it by trying to force the vertical passing game.

Agreed 1000% with this. Seems with most fans Garrett can do no wrong and it is always Romo's fault. They both share the blame for today (although Garrett's not out there throwing the picks). Garrett shows questionable play calling ability with the game on the line.

Hard for me to blame JG, maybe he needs to protect his team from Romo but he had a good game plan today and should of won this game going away. I dont see how you can rip JG over a few play calls that you dont like.

Just so I'm clear, which play are you talking about, since if I pay attention to what all you guys are saying you would have apparently run the ball every time a pass didn't work out, and passed the ball every time a run didn't work out.

If you're going to whine as much as you do about what we are talking about at least try to keep up with the conversation.

First and ten with four minutes left in the game.

shotgun up 24?

The coach should ALWAYS get blame. I'm tired of this "Garrett didn't throw the ball, Garrett didn't cover Calvin Johnson, etc."

As a head coach, whether you win or lose, you always get the blame or praise. That's part of the job. You oversee everything during the week and during the game. It's your job to make sure that certain things happen and certain things don't happen during a game. When you're a manager at any job and one of your employees screws up with a similar mistake five times in four weeks, that's also your fault because you should've made sure it was fixed and corrected after the first time.

So I don't see how anyone can NOT blame Garrett. I don't care how much some of you guys seem to love him, he has to be blamed today. It's his job

Wade was blamed during every meltdown in the past. Garrett shouldn't be excused either.

Well, if you wish to whine about the head coach and every play you wouldn't have called on Madden, maybe you should keep up. I already answered that referring back to the NFC Championship game in 1992.

I say to you again, if Aikman throws a pick instead of hitting Harper for one of the biggest plays of the 90's you would have been the first one in line to complain.

It is called typical fan reaction. Whatever he calls that doesn't work of course YOU would have called a different play. Its just the way you guys are.

Yeah, thats' what lost this team a 24-point lead and the game today - 'agenda'.

The only agenda I see at work is the ridiculousness of people springing to Garrett's defense.

Too bad Garrett didn't have the chance to work with Parcells.

Maybe Big Bill putting him over his knee would have put some coaching fundamentals into him.

Anyone that wants to blame Garrett, ok.

He shouldn't treat Romo like an elite QB and basically give him the Sanchez treatment. Put on the kid gloves and take the ball out of his hands.

Save your lame example. It doesn't come close to applying to today.

The Cowboys weren't up by 24 and slingin it arouind in that game against the 49'ers.
