I just think Garrett should be the HC and not the OC/HC.
Personally, I like the direction we are going, but I'd LOVE some new strategy.
We pulled out one new wrinkle today that I was impressed with. That play where Ogletree went in motion and looked like a reverse, and then planted and cut back outside was a thing of beauty.
Garrett calls some plays that look like he is a genius, and then calls plays that leave you scratching your head.
I'm not going to blame him on the loss, but the passing call that became our 3rd INT was stupid IMO. Just run the ball, waste time and force them to blow their timeouts. Put the pressure on the Lions to make the stops and leave them with the choice of saving time but having no time outs, or hoping the D can force a 3 and out. Make them gamble instead.
The first Romo int was almost identical to the play against NYJ that Revis caught, only it was a LB this time so that is 100% Romo. The 2nd play I'll blame on Romo and Robinson 50/50. The third in my book is 100% on Garrett. You HAVE to run the ball in that situation.
Romo was at fault for the first two. The third(even though you should be able to trust your QB not to throw off his backfoot in double coverage) is on the Coach for even allowing that option.
Then again, if Felix catches an EASY completion on the last drive, we may still win. If Frank Walker doesn't hold, we may still win. If our first round pick RT doesn't get blown up by a small DB we may still win.
My whole point is: Romo HAS to do a better job protecting the ball and the lead. No if ands or buts about it. And Garrett HAS to run the ball with only a 3 point lead.
