***Rip on Romo Thread***

To top it all off, Eli just threw a strike to put the Giants ahead ... Oh Joy.

No, he does. Sure D didn't play well in second half either. But Tony just ripped the heart of D IMO. He freaking ripped the heart out of the whole team.

I know, D could have stopped, Garrett should have run the ball more ( even though they were not that effective enough to just run the ball and keep it away, but I know everyone has a photographic memory about how the game went, but other than in some spurts, they were not running the ball well, especially in second half).

But bottom line, it was clear, Detroit was down and out by half time. Tony just decided he needs to be "Oh No" as people say.

If you want to give Tony most of the blame I won't argue. But Garrett and Ryan share some of the blame.

Really? I see a small school QB choking against the Lions with a huge lead. My point is very few small schools put out solid NFL qb's Look around the league most of the starters in the league are from big time programs.
Roethlisberger- Miami of Ohio
Flacco-Delaware
Schaub-Virginia
Freeman Kansas St
Brees-Purdue
Fitzpatrick-Harvard
Romo-Eastern Illinois
Cutler-Vanderbilt
Rodgers-Cal
Kolb-Houston

Not exactly a who's who of big time programs there.
It's not unheard of

Romo played poorly in the 2nd half.

2nd INT was on Robinson. It's a slant! WR needs to cross the DB's face and shield the DB. It's timing and trust there.

Ok....Why can't we tackle after the INT??? Why??? If we just make them work a little for the score......damn..how frustrating is this.:bang2: :banghead:

Lets also not forget Garrett going for it on 4th & Goal on the 2nd drive instead of kicking the FG or Felix for some reason running out of bounds on 4th & 20 at the end of the game with a defender at least 5yards away from him.

1 superbowl that belongs to Rodgers and Cal isn't exactly considered a "small" school.

I will take a guy from a big program over any small program guy any day.

:lmao2: why are you focusing so much on his scrambling abilities. he has less than 50 yds rushing a game. He is a pocket passer with good mechanics, good accuracy, and good arm strength.

do you even watch his games?

38, 78, 51, 6(L). Sorry I disagree with you I guess. He relies on scrambling to keep the play going, he has much improved mechanics over the past years and I am impressed with his accuracy, but like I said, who has he really played? TCU? They just lost to SMU. So, if he keeps it going against Texas, OU, A&M etc. I'll most likely change my mind, but you'll just have to excuse me for not being impressed with wins against the like of SFA.

Felix is probably the dumbest of them all (football wise), and that is saying a lot.

& I had him STARTED in my Fantasy league. :banghead:

Romo isn't Danny White, but this may have been Romo's "No Danny No" game ... the tipping point, when reasonable confidence was lost in him.

Garrett absolutely. Ryan? Surely you jest.

Roethlisberger has what, two or three Super Bowls now? He's from Miami of Ohio.

Kurt Warner went to Northern Iowa.

At this point in his career, Romo is established and whether he succeeds or not has nothing to do with where he went to college 10 seasons ago.

Romo's had several of those over the years.

Cowboys fans are dumb. Big Time college program does not translate over to the NFL. How is that Florida career working for Tebow?

now i have to go work and listen to more people talk about romo throwing another game away.:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Before the 2nd big pick we were running the ball over and over. It was on 3rd and short after running quite a bit that Romo forced the ball to Robinson even though the defender had good inside coverage. He should thrown that one away and been content with a punt. That is how you protect big leads, not by trying to make a play out of nothing when you dont need to.

We were running the ball descently at that point. I don't know why we passed from shotgun on 3rd and 2.

Here are the plays that proceeded that INT.

(10:03) 23-T.Choice up the middle to DAL 28 for 7 yards (29-J.Wendling).
2-3-DAL 28 (9:24) 23-T.Choice left guard to DAL 34 for 6 yards (94-L.Jackson).
1-10-DAL 34 (8:39) 29-D.Murray up the middle to DAL 38 for 4 yards (96-A.Fluellen).
2-6-DAL 38 (7:57) (Shotgun) 9-T.Romo pass short left to 81-L.Robinson pushed ob at DAL 44 for 6 yards (21-E.Wright).
1-10-DAL 44 (7:13) 29-D.Murray right guard to DET 49 for 7 yards (93-K.Vanden Bosch).
2-3-DET 49 (6:31) 29-D.Murray right tackle to DET 48 for 1 yard (55-S.Tulloch).

Like you said, we were running the ball alot and IMHO pretty well.

That is the worst part of all of this. Not only do you get to do that, but you get to hear it over the next 2 WEEKS.

:(

I would love to go into a bye week on a huge win after blowing out the last opponent.

That's not asking all that much, really.

It wasn't until our second possession of the second half. Then the wheels fell off.

come on guys, he is who he is, we should not be surprised at this point. his idol IS brett favre! i think we really need a power running game! thats the reason we have never lost large leads like we have this year (both losses have been record breaking) in the past we have had power running games to run out the clock
