Hey Rob - worry about that atrocious defense that you ruined in New Orleans just like you almost ruined this one. Thanks.

Here's what I find really ironic and funny about the fascination with Jerry. If he is the end all, be all, do all GM people actually imagine that he is, then you have to admit the following.

Jerry got the Tyron Smith, Bruce Carter, DeMarco Murray, Dwayne Harris, Tyrone, Crawford, Travis Frederick, Gavin Escobar, Terrence Williams, JJ Wilcox, Zach Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Anthony Hitchens draft picks right in the last 4 years, and arguments can be made for a couple of the other picks he made being valuable to the team as well. And certainly he had something to do with Dez Bryant and Sean Lee prior to these 4 years since he has been the GM for 26 years now. You also have to give him credit for finding Ronald Leary, Dan Bailey, Cole Beasley, Davon Coleman, Chris Jones, and Dustin Vaughan and a few others among the UDFA solid finds. I mean was anyone more excited than Jerry about Leary? I don't think so. While you're at it, give him credit for bilking the best GM in the NFL out of Rolando McClain and being able to sign Free Agents like Henry Melton, George Selvie, Jeremy Mincey, among others and successfully replace high contract hit guys like Jason Hatcher and DeMercus Ware and getting improved results. Certainly you have to give him credit for assembling a Coaching staff who seem to have all 63 guys (including the PS) united and focused on "the basics." Yeah, I think if you consider Jerry all that you need to recognize that he is, BY YOUR OWN DEFINITION OF WHAT A GM IS, directly, responsible for every living. breathing, eating, drinking, sleeping, and pooping soul on the staff, roster, and offices.

But I don't have to. Why not? Because I do not now, nor have I ever recognized Jerry as that GM. Nope. Not once. Zero times. Zip. Nunca amigos. That means "never friends" for those of you who are mono linguistic.

Yeah, I find that real funny for a guy who supposedly defends Jerry at every turn no matter what he does and "rubber stamps" it. I'm talking bust a gut, pee your pants, can't breathe funny. I love irony.

When things go wrong, the only thing that really matter is whose fault it is.

No. What that is is patently idiotic.

Years mean nothing when you own the team and hire and retain yourself. He wouldn't have gotten one year if he had to do it on merit.

Dan Snyder's been around a long time too. He's still a moron.

Year 1 he drafted Troy Aikman (3 rings and the HOF), Daryl Johnston (3 rings), Mark Stepnoski (2 rings), and Tony Tolbert (3 rings).

Yeah, no one would have gotten another year.

How's he doing this season? He'll be lucky to survive with his job in the off season. Cowboys have done a complete roster make over since the end of 2009, that isn't easy to do and it doesn't lead to instant results(positive) they're on the way!

Anyone who believes Jerry had anything to do with who was drafted those first 5 years in Dallas has got to have his head where he can check for polyps.

How about year 6? Who was in charge when Dallas drafted Hall of Famer and perhaps the best offensive lineman ever Larry Allen in the 2nd round of 1994?

And promptly went another NINE years before he hit on another all-timer in Witten? Is that all you got? There were plenty of Tony Dixons, Dwayne Goodriches, and Quincy Carters to go around for Jerry. The rest of the league looked at the Cowboys "war room" and laughed. Probably as hard as I am right now.

Delusional is when you have an iota of evidence that GM Jerry would have a job with any other team in sports, let alone the NFL.

When it's all said and done, will there be any other GM in history that has drafted (or signed) as many HOFs as Jerry Jones?

Honest question, but I can't imagine there will be one.

Even if he signed 40 HOF'ers, that's not what it's about. It's about putting together a team so that your coach will be successful based on his philosophy. It's been said by others who come out of Dallas that there simply is no philosophy there, it's like Jerry is playing fan duel with what was once the flagship franchise in the NFL.

If that is true, then it will only because of longevity. If he didn't own the team, then he would have been fired long ago. I would guess Al Davis hold that record right now? And for the same reason.

It's an interesting question. I don't know the answer to that for the entire NFL but I'd venture a guess that Papa Bear Halas holds that record. He was the Owner, GM, and Head Coach of the Bears for a looooooooooooong time.

I've been going to a doctor for 51 years now, about 46 or 47 of which I can remember. I have had LOTS of medical conversations. I have had personal friends who were doctors. I watch TLC a lot, and there are lots of shows on there about emergency rooms and such. I have a son who is in medical training right now. May I do your next surgery?

Even Bill Parcells said that he sometimes feel's like an oilman but he's not one. Jerry sometimes feels like a talent evaluator, but he's not one. He's an oilman. I am paraphrasing but that is faithful to what Bill Parcells said, not me.

I think I'll stick with Bill instead of Theogt. Unless, of course, he needs a surgeon who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.
