Ya, Pouncey at 27 is looking like our pick

He can play OG/C..adding solid depth and eventually starting in a year or two.

Pouncey it is.

Could be, we know they liked Unger last year. Nothing's changed at the interior positions since last years draft, so he could be on the radar screen.

Exactly. That's why I tend to think we go in that direction.

No more Proctor!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me that makes it clear we'll be targeting some guards this year in the draft.

I think Free will do okay at LT, I'm not sure he's got top tier potential but should be interesting to find out.

What the hell?
Who knows if he will be available when we are on the clock? Lots of crazy things happen in the draft.

I dont think Free is a great LT either. He's always going to be mediocre there. He's better at RT. He's going to get *****ed too much by those strong DE's.

He's a really good backup swing tackle though.

I'd like to draft a guy that brings more smarts to the C possition. Pouncey could replace Gurode in a year or two.

The Cowboys will try him at RT rather than OG. That means Free is the future LT unless Brewster does not pan out at Tackle. They think he will.

I would think this was always the plan.

If he can't hack it then slide him inside.

If they said he was going to take on Left Tackle I would have been worried.

He's not a quick footed athlete at all.

Kid reminds me of Nate Newton.

I wish Brewer would take Colombo's job now.

I want Pouncy at # 27.

He could challenge Kozier for LG and boot Proctor off the team.

You draft Pouncy and plug him in at LG and when Gurode quits making Pro Bowls, you slide him over to Center.

I don't see Dallas playing Free, Brewer, and a new LG. That seems to be too much turn over, especially for a team like Dallas, who has blocked elite players like Spencer and Jenkins with less talented players.

I'd like to see Brewer at RT for sure, but when will I see it?

I said that the Cowboys needed to replace 40% of their o-line now.

I will be lucky to get one change.

Colombo gets hurt. Sits out six weeks. Comes back early.

Has one horrible game against the Vikes.

And you want to bench him.

But Newman is usually always running around with some nagging injury and has been declining for three seasons.

Yet you would tear down Cowboys Stadium if anyone suggested they wanted Scandrick to replace him in 2010.

:laugh2:

I love ya #41. Was just making a point.

I just get the feeling he'll end up at RG if he ever makes it as a sterter in the NFL.

He had two horrible games actually. He didn't play well against the Eagles either, but we won so it never mattered.

Not that he should be benched, of course.

Free's gone from being a wasted draft pick, to too weak to start, to a starting-quality RT, to a starting LT who's not good enough to be anything but mediocre in the last 12 months. I wonder how good he'll end up being when he breaks into the starting lineup full time at LT and gets some experience? My guess is he starts for us and plays well at LT for the next six years.

I never understood why people just *knew* he was a guard in the first place. The guy may not be tall, but he has long enough arms to play T.

Because he came in lacking upper body strength and his bulk was his asset.

His feet were slow.

He couldn't hold the edge rusher down and is more suited to body fight a guy with garbage going on to the left and right of him.

I just hope he's learned some kick step techniques or he's going to get roasted as a Right Tackle as well.

If those long arms aren't strong they will just be pushed away.

I am not sold on him as a Right Tackle either. He's got to show us he can push these edge rushers past the QB by moving his feet and using his upper body strength.

He's definitely not ready to challenge for the starting RT job.

Where do you get this? He didn't even play long enough to establish much about him.

It sounds like you still know he is destined to be a guard. Or maybe you just didn't like the pick?

one day some of you guys will realize we are not going to draft an offensive lineman in the 1st round..

do not misconstrue this with me not wanting us to go OL..it is just how we operate, how Jerry operates.

He was rusty.

But up until the injury and playoff games he was a solid player.

His knock was his strength coming to the Cowboys.

And his injury shut him down.

The Cowboys knew this. The coaches knew this. But they liked his upside.

No one knows if he stays as a Right Tackle.

Worst case for him is he moves inside.
