In all of the commotion last night, and with all of the players I tried to keep an eye on, I completely forgot about Brewster.

I don't remember seeing him at all last night, which is usually a good thing for an OL. However, I know we had a lot of problems pass blocking with our 2nd and 3rd string OL as well.

Did anyone notice anything good or bad about his performance last night?

He was bad, although it was his first game in two years, but I think he's better suited to play Guard anyway.

Punky Brewster could have done a better job.

I haven't rewatched the game yet and wasn't paying attention to the blocking so much as I was watching McGee but I didn't think he was as bad as some make out. I only saw him a couple times, the first when he drove his man to the ground and I thought 'Good play Barron' only to see that it was actually Brewster. Another play where he stood out, he doubled up with the OG on someone and the rushing DE/OLB from his side had a free run at the QB that the RB wasn't able to come across fast enough to pick up. Looked similar to one of Free's blocks against Minni that got Romo killed.

I thought he looked like a fat glob of goo who has no business on a football field.

Michael Johnson blew by him a few times. I too think he is better suited for Guard.

This is false Brewster had a good game.

He played for a very long time started out at RT and finished at LT with about 7 mins left in the game. Brewster was assignment sound and did some good things in both the running and passing game.

If I was him, I would become Free's weight room partner. He needs to hit the weights and work on his foot work.

The guys has quite a story, I'll judge him next year.

It was immediately obvious that he can't handle speed rushers.

That screams, I'm moving to guard. Of course, I think he would have trouble there too. At least right now. Especially against gap shooting DTs in a 4-3 alignment.

I saw Michael Johnson come in uncontested and get a sack due to the blocking call that left the RB responsible for picking him up, never once did he actually beat Brewster from what I saw. Of note on the very next play after that Johnson sack the excat same protection was called (Brewster blocking down not out) a blitzer came free off the left edge but this time the RB picked it up and we converted an easy first down.

I'll watch the game again to be sure on Brewster but at first glance I was pleased with his play. And for those that are ready to jump on Barron they might want to watch the game again because he played well other then that one screw up.

when you watch, just watch him for about 5 to 10 plays. It appears he is slow popping out of his stance. could be rust but he screamed Guard to me.

I don't know about you, but I don't want my guards popping out of their stance slow either!

As we had with Doug Free all offseason, I think we have a case of people having no idea about what they are looking at making declaritive statements about a player.

I focused on Brewster most of the time he was in and I was happy with what I saw. I am going to rewatch the game and break his game down but those saying he was abused have no idea what they are talking about.

That sound like a very good statement to say out loud but there is nothing on game tape that shows what you are talking about.

If he was indeed slow out of his stance nobody was able to take advantage of it. Brewster had a poor game just like Jarred Allen dominated Free in the Vikes game many people will tell you that is true but its just not the case.

I just quickly went through the game again and watched all the plays Brewster was in and he had a solid game at both RT and LT. Can't wait to see if Wade or anyone will back that up once they had a chance to review the game film.

For sure the people saying Brewster had a bad game was not paying attn to him. This is just like the Vikes game assumption that Free played poor when it was Colombo getting his *** beat.

I can't wait until I have some time to go back and watch this game.

I'm still trying to figure out why we drafted him, especially WHERE we drafted him, so don't ask me.
