With Quinn coming to Dallas i think this is the first step into the team saying bye to Lawrence.

And its not a coincidence this deal got done quickly after the Impasse news came out. Its whats best for Dallas in terms of the future. The depth at DE in this draft might make it easier for the team to deal Lawrence away. The core and the future comes before a player trying to hold your offseason hostage.

That sounds like emotions talking.

Wrong Demarcus!

But honestly? If I can get Ansah signed to a reasonable deal AND get something for Lawrence in a trade? At this point? I'd do that.

"Get me Indy on the line, or better yet the Raiders!"

Lol. If the Raiders gave us back our pick for Lawrence, their trade spree net would look something like...

Give up:

Mack
Cooper
2020 2nd
2020 5th
2019 3rd and 5th

Get:

Antonio Brown
DeMarcus Lawrence
1 2019 1st (Bears)
1 2020 1st (Bears)
2020 3rd (Bears)
2019 6th (Bears)

That's not horrible when looked at holistically. They have to hit on those 1st rounders though.

And of course, we'd have flipped Cooper for Lawrence. Weird.

I don't think Quinn really means anything with regards to Lawrence. He's Gregory's replacement.

Now, as I said, if they start kicking the tires on Ansah, oh boy.............

That would be WONDERFUL if we can get our pick back from the Raiders for DLaw. I really hope this happens.

Agree, this move is to improve the overall DL, as they expect a deal to get done with DLaw. Completely independent move.

Just going with whats been said by the team. Of course theres speculation on my part. But the word impasse is big and it describes this negotiation exactly. Seems like everytime news comes out on the talks the price Lawrence has wanted has gone up. Clearly the team doesnt view Lawrence as a 23mil guy.

I have to think this team is looking at beyond this yr with Deals to Dak, Cooper, Elliot, and add in Jaylon Smith come into the equation. Gotta draw a line somewhere. While the talks havent gotten ugly atleast in public. While Lawrence is one of the best DEs in the game, this team is building something bigger then any single guy.

Laughable.

Quinn has everything to do with pushing a win now approach. Quinn is a pass rushing specialist. D Law is a pass rusher who also is outstanding in the run game.

There is no point to Quinn if DLaw isn't playing on the other side.

I'd float word out about it anyway. I mean they're leaking Lawrence's asking price for the world to see, why not go all the way with it?

And if you move quickly on Ansah, you might still have some sort of a trade market for Lawrence left. If someone else signs him, there's no replace, ent option and one less team looking for a DE.

But, having said that, Ansah's recent injury history is concerning.

Lawrence's asking price is high. But I'd sign him before I'd throw huge money at the rest of those names you've mentioned. Nobody has actually earned his Keep and his payday the way Lawrence has.

It's tough. Rock and a hard place stuff.

I can see a trade happening more during the draft than before. Unless it is a day or two before. As players drop off the board, if a team wants a DE, it may spark trade talks.
But as you said, Ansah would be key as to this happening even then.

Quinn is one of the best run defending DEs in the league.
