Hopefully it's for a 2020 conditional 6th or something...

But trade Dlaw tomorrow ..

I'd have to say no. Otherwise, what's the point of a lockout?
I would say 80% of the contracts are not guaranteed.... DAL owes around 28m in guarantees this year before DLaw

The Players are being locked out so it is of no fault of their own they aren't playing
A Strike and obviously they don't get paid

He's Gregory's replacement.

Ansah would be the guy replacing Lawrence. If a rumor breaks that the Cowboys have kicked the tires on Ansah, you know they are ready to say peace out to him.

LOL ....what does this say about their confidence in Taco ( btw- posted a tweet yesterday he was nursing a shoulder injury )

I'm so hoping this is addition to Lawrence and not a replacement for him. Hopefully it means Lawrence can come down a bit on their asking price. Quin and DLaw as ends....this could be huge.

Or, as I've said since yesterday, move DLaw for Dexter Lawrence in the late 1st or high 2nd, then get Zach Allen at 58. Do this, and our defencive line takes the next level imo.

Quinn gives the Cowboys an available option opposite Lawrence with Randy Gregory’s uncertain status for 2019 and Taco Charlton coming off surgery.

Besides a look at both Quinn and Lawrence, let's also contemplate a possible addition of Taco Charlton and Randy Gregory. Not out of the picture, as to looking forward. Then Crawford or a drafted player could be used outside as well Dorance Armstrong being available.

Great. Now trade for Ogbah. Then get on the phone to Demarcus's agent and tell him he is free to seek a contract worth 23 mil a year with 31 other teams. Once they find the partner. Sign the tag and trade his azz.
Dont need to sign the tag to trade him.

Now get Ansah's agent on the phone and let Ware search out a team for a trade and that big contract he wants.

Wrong Demarcus!

But honestly? If I can get Ansah signed to a reasonable deal AND get something for Lawrence in a trade? At this point? I'd do that.

"Get me Indy on the line, or better yet the Raiders!"

Cowboys don't have to give permission. They placed the non-exclusive tag on Lawrence. He's free to negotiate with any team. It's extremely costly for the other team to sign (2 first round picks), but there is nothing preventing talking contract with Tank then approaching Dallas with trade offers.
didn't know there was different levels of franchise tags

I am not happy with it being a 1 year deal. This just means one more contract negotiation to handle next year and we all know they won't have the foresight to get it done early.

Not really. I thought that the trade for Quinn was supposed to be essentially a 1 year rental. Bring him in with Miami taking most of the contract and see how he does. If he's as good as we want, extend him. If not, don't resign him and get the comp pick for him. It's a good move to do it this way.

Looks like a good trade.

If we don't resign him then we get a compensatory pick after this season I believe.

Exactly. The contract would be mostly paid by the Dolphins, by my understanding, but we'd get the comp pick for not resigning him. It's a good move to do it this way. Really, a no brainer imo. We're essentially trading a pick for Quinn and a future pick.

If we signed Quinn and Ansah, then flipped Dlaw for a 1st we'd be good to go. Me thinks. If not Dlaw and Quinn sounds awesome.

Even if you only got a second rounder for Lawrence. If you could bring in Ansah (for much less than Lawrence's asking price) and had Quinn plus you got draft compensation? I'd call that a win.

And you can still trade up into the first if it's a high enough 2nd and there's a 1st round player you really want.
