I can actually see the brass and especially Stephen getting enamored by him. He’s a high character guy and tough dude. It will all depend on who he wants to bring in as his OC.

I would much rather him than KM.

agreed..

I wouldn't be surprised in either direction, meaning if we get word that they hired him today to be the new HC OR DC. I don't think he will make it to San Fran. It's better than hiring Moore.
He’s still getting paid by the Jets so he’s good on money. Going back to SF would feel like a demotion to me. Being KM’s DC wouldn’t work as well.

Wonder who would win a whispering contest between Moore and Saleh.

Every now and then a HC needs to get pissed off at the locker room, but when soft spoken people do so, it’s sort of funny…and generally tuned out.

That aside I would not at all dismiss Saleh as a candidate. Jerry is going to screw this up in one way or another. It’s really a matter of if a guaranteed 30-40 million is enough to commit career suicide. For one, the answer will be yes.

I don’t think Moore will do it, Saleh might.

He was so tough. He let himself get embarrassed and bullied by Aaron Rodgers a national tv.
Thank you. But it's a narrative Jerry can sell to this foolish fanbase to eat up because most believe he's a tough guy

Curious about this I was thinking about this this morning I know how it works with players when they get cut and still have money owed they get picked up by another team whatever their salary is with the new team gets taken away from the responsibility of the team they left...

You know kind of like when people get divorced and they're paying alimony but if the other person gets married the alimony can stop I'm wondering how that works with the coaches I mean did The Jets get taken off the hook for the difference in whatever he gets paid elsewhere or they just on the hook for that money. I wonder if anybody knows for a fact not an opinion on how this works in the NFL....

But that is a good point Jerry would love that guy wants to take 5 million or somewhere in that neighborhood maybe a little bit more because he's already getting paid elsewhere but i figured there might be rules against that so you can't double dip...

we could certainly do worse

and honestly, I like the middle finger it gives to SF

Saleh : “So, the 49ers said they are willing to make me the highest paid defensive coordinator. Contract negotiations should be easy and start at $6 million per year. Looking forward to turning this ship around!”

Jerry looks over at Stephen dumbfounded

Cap Boy : “We like your resume and would love for you to come to the star! Here is our offer.”

Cap Boy slides paper napkin with offer over to Robert Saleh and Agent. Agent is nodding asking what’s it say

Saleh : “One year, incentive based deal? Be sure to … buy a shirt on the way out?

Saleh and agent laugh, crumble up napkin and fly immediately to SF and sign a deal making $6 million per read

Is that really what it is? 6 million?

Oh and please tour our museum that doubles as a football facility.

I’ve heard a lot of Saleh on local radio when he was HC of the Jets. Very intelligent, soft spoken…voice doesn’t match face…certainly knows his football. Good guy. Very good guy in fact. Gentle demeanor. May look like a tough guy, but not at all.

I think he has forgotten more XO stuff than Prime will ever care to bother to know, but can he lead the Dallas locker room without being another puppet? Not at all. Zero shot.

There’s really only one person whose name is in contention that wouldn’t be just another of those. Depends on what you want to see from here. Either way it’ll be a challenge as the roster gets progressively worse.

Fangio is the top right now at $4.5 per year as highest paid defensive coordinator

Zimmer is 2nd at $4.

Figured a little bump as SF offers 5-6

I know you guys like to make a mockery out of Jerry Jones just because he mentioned that would be nice if the NFL could set up contracts like that doesn't mean it ever will happen and he's not gonna ever do that..imho

he knows that doesn't fly, and he's never given a coach less than a four year deal they're usually five years didn't Garrett get a 10 year deal once?? either way, that's not going to happen your little scenario up there with the napkin ,not happening, that may be true of what they might be offering him in San Francisco...

I don't know, but I can tell you this they know bringing in a veteran season coach like this they're going to have to offer him a real contract with real money what that is i don't know but it'll be real years. When Jerry says something like that he's just saying he wishes it could be that way you know make a coach year to year earn his spot so they don't have to fire guys after one year when they're not doing well and have to pay him the other 4-5 years I can see why he'd say that even though it's never going to happen he just says things that pop in his head there's nothing wrong with that but I know for a fact he will not do that he look a man in the face and say here take a one year deal it's not happening that's not what he would do I guarantee he didn't do that with Mike McCarthy he may have offered three years but I believe the hold up with McCarthy was he was going to make Mike McCarthy step down as OC and hire a new offensive staff and that was really where it went wrong and I don't care, I'm glad.

If they hired Robert Salah, you can bet the offensive coordinator is going to be Brian Schottenheimer and you’ll see very little change to the philosophy and coaching staff.
Add Witten done
We can't afford changes to the philosophy. We're stuck with Duck, and he can't handle a dumbed-down version of the offense.
