Robert Saleh at the Star for in person interview today

Let’s see who ends up making more money….Saleh as SF DC or the next Dallas HC.

Jerry’s goal seems to not be about getting the best coach, but who will work the cheapest….and the kid is way on board with that I’m sure.

Cautionary tale.... remember when Saleh was the flavor of the off-season like 2 yrs ago? Before the Jets hired him? Everyone crowned him. The Jets were being praised as being aggressive and hey they wanna win. Ben Johnson is of the same ilk except on offense. Is he a product of players or his scheme? Can he lead? Saleh, was he a product of the scheme with the Jets, and a terrible culture that one man can never fix? I mean, the players there turned on him quick. But the defense was good. I guess what I'm saying is, he's a great DC only but I think we saw what he is at HC. I still I like him better than km.

We can't afford changes to the philosophy. We're stuck with Duck, and he can't handle a dumbed-down version of the offense.
Jerry couldn’t afford to venture into Wright/Leaf/Stoerner territory at this point in time.

It would have a negative effect on his Netflix career.

So you’ll get your 7-9 wins and like it.

I'm still holding out for Belicheat.. I need to see a change of culture ( front office) before i drink the Kool-Aid. I totally checked out this year.

I’ve heard a lot of Saleh on local radio when he was HC of the Jets. Very intelligent, soft spoken…voice doesn’t match face…certainly knows his football. Good guy. Very good guy in fact. Gentle demeanor. May look like a tough guy, but not at all.

I think he has forgotten more XO stuff than Prime will ever care to bother to know, but can he lead the Dallas locker room without being another puppet? Not at all. Zero shot.

There’s really only one person whose name is in contention that wouldn’t be just another of those. Depends on what you want to see from here. Either way it’ll be a challenge as the roster gets progressively worse.
Hilarious comment to make about a first ballot hall of fame known for his study habits. Hilarious

I like Saleh and he's the best of the confirmed candidates so far. Don't think it's gonna happen, but who knows.

I can actually see the brass and especially Stephen getting enamored by him. He’s a high character guy and tough dude. It will all depend on who he wants to bring in as his OC.

I would much rather him than KM.
Same here,,, this team has needed a defensive focus for many years and Saleh's demeanor suits how I think a HC should carry himself. Obviously he will need a quality OC and a GM that can fill a roster so we're still SOL in that respect.

I agree on that I people will keep overlooking that how is Ben Johnson much different than Kellen Moore until he proves otherwise I mean look at that lineup that roster and it's not only the players that the lions gave him but you gotta look at the rest of it the offense the special teams the coaching staff are all working together he can't get to carry most of any of that to the next team so how is he going to be when he has to build it all himself with different players and the different coaching staff it's always gonna be high risk hiring a first time head coach that's coming from a place that was absolutely loaded...

And to a lesser degree I mean it's like Bienemy, when he left Kansas City ,we all knew that was mostly all Andy Reid designing and calling the place yet Washington went out and got him anyway and everyone thought he was going to be the next coming of Andy Reid ,and it didn't happen they didn't have the same players and this was technically his first time doing this particular job on his own and it didn't work out...

And I'm not advocating this but if you look at with what Kliff Kingsbury is doing with a rookie and not as many dynamic players on that offense as what Moore has or Ben Johnson has maybe he's a little bit more impressive... In my opinion you might have the edge because he's doing a little bit more with less

If he lies on this interview he will have the upper hand. That being said, I wouldn't let him leave the building. This gamemenship by Jerry will eventually lead to anybody of substance finding a job before he decides to take things with this team seriously. Safe to say if Saleh is the guy, Zimm is out?

Great point on everything. KK gets too much flack and he's been really good when he can run his scheme with good players to implement it. Bienemy got exposed for what he is, a fair play caller but nothing special. Until these hot shot coordinator types get a gig and prove it as a hc, it's extremely high risk. I think you need someone first and foremost that can lead men by there presence and natural people skills. That's where young guys buy in. The scheme is secondary. If we hire Saleh for HC, I hope it's the right move. Deion, we know he can command a room. But will NFL players buy in?

Well if you’ve read my recent comments you’d also know that Deion Sanders is my favorite all time pro athlete. Even used the word “hero,” which I don’t often use, if ever.

I also don’t care for flamboyance, which should tell you that’s it’s all about respect for performance. I call him the greatest defensive player in league history. I’ve never seen anyone that played that way, or even close, although the term “shut down corner” is thrown around quite loosely. I saw LT and Reggie for their entire careers.

My point was that Saleh would be a better DC type…a guy who knows XO inside and out. Sanders, for all his greatness at many things, is not that type of coach. More a leader of men, and could command the Dallas locker room much better than Saleh could.

If Dallas hired Saleh as DC, I’d applaud. As HC? The exact opposite. Prime could lead this locker room despite Jerry, but if somehow he was the DC we would be in trouble.

Clearly a misunderstanding but at least you got a nice laugh. You’re welcome.
