Sure he can. Gil can do what almost everybody else does: ignore what Jerry has to say when it comes to building a winning roster.

Correct. And there are no Sapp's or Rice's in this group. Marinelli gets great credit for developing a great d-line in Tampa. But he doesn't have a fraction of the talent to work with in Dallas. You need a miracle of biblical proportions to get 40+ sacks out of this group.

This remains to be seen...Lawrence and Gregory have not run their course, by far.

so they are going to take the same group that couldn't get a stop or a turnover had just over 20 sacks and expect different results. you have to have talent to win in the nfl. without a pass rush you don't compete for the playoffs

They need to give Rod a full contingent of real NFL level players without the baggage or shortcomings. Once they draft Bosa they will finally have quality players at all four positions for Rod to work with.

He said because of the RB signing it wouldn't be Elliot. He said the Cowboys need a pass rusher but that Bosa and Buckner were not pass rushers and would never be considered elite pass rushers in their careers. He said they are not worth the 4th pick, probably should go after the 10th pick. Ramsey will be gone he said. He really had no answer.

Would rather draft a DT and sign a veteran DE. We already have a few young DEs with solid potential (Lawrence, Gregory, Russell, Mayowa, Irving). What we don't have are any proven veteran DEs. Although Lawrence seemed to have a breakout year, I wouldn't say he's guaranteed to have success in 2016. On the other hand, we have two vet DTs in Crawford and Thornton, but we don't have any solid young potential behind them. And this draft is loaded with DTs. We can go ahead and draft a DE like Bosa, but what happens if all the young guys still need a year or two to develop?

I love the Cowboys as much as anyone, even though we are currently a slow team with a severe lack of talent. Marinelli hasn't got much to work with, and the 'good' players are unreliable (hurt/suspended) at best. It's just our luck that we have high picks in a year without impact defenders in the draft.

Oh, there are a good number of blue chippers in this draft. Once in a decade types? That has to be won on the carpet, not the Combine setting. That simply takes experience and successful ones at that. One has to watch before knowing, then.

That's when it tends to get ugly in the DAL FO. Even when the best option is staring them in the eyes (QB) they see it as an opportunity to trade down and "get cute". Yet we hear BPA blah blah. I hope I am wrong.
