Is Jeff Fischer a good coach? How's his team doing? Coaches are overated at this level. Wade didn't drop any passes, fumble any balls, miss any field goals or miss any tackles yesterday. He also called a pretty good game as a D coordinator and as a head coach. I'm just sayin.

Cinci is overachieving right now. Would you attribute any of that to good coaching or is it just the same old players having suddenly seen the light?

Cowboys are not playing well..yet were beaten (just) by two teams with unbeaten records...we may not be all that bad...

And in case some people didn't realize. The Broncos just whipped Bradie's ***.

I can't say I disagree, the talent is wasting away on this team. Wade Phillips may be a good DC, but he's not a pimple an a HC's butt IMO.

We need a guy like Cowher or Gruden, someone who will get in a players grill when the make mistakes. Jimmy Johnson would have cut Crayton after his sloppy uninspired play yesterday, and this team with the talent we have , wouldn't have lost a single game this year so far.

Lack of concentration and focus falls squarely on the coaching staff, ... It's called preparation .. Wade doesn't know the meaning of having his team mentally prepared for a must win game as important as this one was.

Miles Austin became a star yesterday , Victor Butler had a great day vs Carolina with 2 sacks, I haven't seen him on the defense rushing the passer since. Wade is clueless as the day is long, he needs to go !

What really bothers me about this team is that they don't improve on anything as the season progresses.Take the Giants game where this team had costly penalties and turnovers.Instead of taking the approach that undisciplined play cost them a victory and improve, what have they done. They came out and beat Carolina with uninspired play, laid an egg in Denver with more uninspired play and more of the same yesterday.Pam Oliver reported at the half yesterday that players on this team were calling their effort "embarrassing" and "a joke".Those are the most truthful words i've heard uttered from this team to this point in the season. All the "rah rah" speeches need to stop now, they need to be saying "we won but we cannot continue to win with shoddy play".It just seems that teams that contend for championships improve as the season progresses while mediocre teams just remain stagnant with the "ho hum" attitude.

Keyshawn Johnson on Sunday morning also made a big point that the Boys problems were mainly coaching, or lack of it.

The Boys are and will continue to play to their opponents level. The two losses to the Giants and Broncos were very close and winnable. My point is that 3 and 2 is not that bad for a team still tryin to find itself after the offseason we had. I still have faith we'll do better in the end.

That being said....fire Wade and hire Gruden or Cowher.

Soi if the Cowboys suck(which is not his words but its basically what Harrison is saying) what are the Bronco's and Giants who "barely" beat the Cowboys and actually were losing at one point to the Cowboys in both games? They should've BLOWED the Cowboys away since their the superior competition and the Cowboys are clearly inferior.

Yea I know lol but it frustrates the hell out of me when the media does stuff like this. And then you have the Bronco's who people still put in the 15th range on power rankings. And they say its due to competition yet they've beaten better competition than all of the undefeated teams if you go by winning percentage. Just amazing to me how wrong these guys are.

The bengals cleared out some players and added new coaches the last two years

Hey, CowboyDan. It was good to see you in Dallas at the Giants game.

The problem I have with Wade as a DC is he goes to the prevent defense at a the end of games when the other team needs only one score to win. If we were up by 14 with 2 or 3 minutes left that might be okay. But when one score will lose the game for you, you need to keep playing the defense you've stopped the other team with all day. Or even turn up the heat a little, but don't go soft and let them march right down the field. We've been beat 2 times this year already by teams who got last minute scores.

I don't even want to start talking about how undisciplined the team is.

NBC's Rodney Harrison may be the first network type to say what a lot of you are thinking: The Cowboys are not a well-coached team

Barry Horn/Reporter E-mail News tips

NBC may soon be mourning the Cowboys' season. After all, the Cowboys are scheduled for two more Sunday Night appearances -- vs. Philadelphia and vs. Washington -- and they didn't exactly overwhelm the lowly Chiefs.

NBC's own experts weren't exactly crowing over the Cowboys yesterday.

Rodney Harrison, the ex-Pat and Chargers DB: "I don't like their chances. I think they think they are better than they are. They're too inconsistent and not a well coached team. I don't believe in this team."

Tony Dungy, the ex-Colts coach, did not go quite so far: "Right now they are not a playoff-type team. You can beat the Kansas City's of the world like this but to win the NFC East they are going to have to play much better."

Al Michaels, the crafty veteran, offered a more old-school analysis of the Cowboys situation: He called the Cowboys OT win over the win-less Chiefs: "A very important and dramatic win for those guys. Romo needed a game like that. Wade Phillips needed a game like that."

Barry Horn's premise is way off base. NBC wants the Cowboys because it means top ratings and top advertising dollars. They don't care who wins.

Hi Leon,

Always great to see you and your family as well.
I know that "prevent defense prevents you from winning" and all that, but it really is designed to stop the big play and give you the middle of the field. And when the middle of the field is taken, you take their head off, like Alan Ball did. Unfortunately, that's not legal anymore in the NFL.

I think good coaching puts the right players in the right places to make plays, but it's up to the players to make the play and not make the error. Wade and Red Jesus put the guys in the right places.

It sounds great in theory, plus you keep the clock running if you force them to the middle. And, like I said, it might be a good strategy if you are up by 2 or more scores. But when one score will beat you or tie up the game you have to keep the pressure on.
