What will training camp do for Lawrence when he has to sit 4 games? The point is that you're there standing with your teammates. Not to mention it will get you in better shape than anything you're doing by yourself

Lawrence is still learning the game and any reps he gets can only help.

What will training camp do for him when he has to sit 10 games. Not much.

yea, why waste time getting in shape when he's just going to get out of shape again after sitting 11 weeks

I suspect that McClain will be in football shape at some point mid February at best

This right here is why people like McClain gets away with this crap.

is it true? just putting stuff on twitter doesn't make it true and in 140 characters, seldom tells the whole story. maybe it is just as bad as everyone says and thinks. or maybe he was getting a gift for his son before he leaves.

or maybe some chic lied.

You may be right ....... I am not gonna lie and admit I have come to expect the worst of McClain.

I can't agree with this. If he's going to play for the team, he needs to be practicing and getting himself in shape. If he wants to go fishing while the team is in training camp, he needs to retire.

I don't mind the team's position that we paid you so we're not letting you go in case we need you, but I sure hope they are fining him for each day he's missing.

I know almost everyone wants him gone. I think they'll keep him and we don't gain much by cutting him. Who knows what shape our linebackers will be in week 11. Seems like we might as well keep him and wait and see what happens.

Broudus said as much and I think I agree.

McClain has some LTBE incentives in this year's deal and to be able to get the money back on the cap he has to stay attached to the team.
It's likely that the Cowboys are also trying to get back some of the 750K signing bonus they paid McClain. He most likely won't be in shape after
the 10 game suspension and it's likely he won't be with the team this year. This is all about Jerry getting at least some of his money back from
a guy to should have been sent packing last year. Oh well!

I have absolutely no problem with the fact that Rolando McClain doesn't want to play football anymore. That's entirely his prerogative.

I DO have a problem with him signing a contract to play, getting fat, then welching on the deal and keeping his signing bonus.

And I especially have a problem with the fact that Jerry is the only person on the planet who didn't see this coming.

You mean like, he gets another $100,000 if he gets a sex change operation?...

Sarcasm again. You do know the LTBE is Likely To Be Earned, right???
This was not a sexual preference joke...
