Laurintis is 29 years old and had 109 tackles last season.

His stats last year really don't look much different than 30 year old Sean Lee.

Is he really ready to be put out to the pasture?

I'm legitimately asking since I really didn't want him play at all last year and for all I know all of his tackles where 10 yards down the field.

Here's some info on him and his 2015 season:

‘No weaknesses’: James Laurinaitis is ready to show the Saints he’s as tough as they come

Because not all LBs are interchangeable. Some teams saw Jack as strictly a WILL LB. Maybe the Cowboys did as well and with Lee at WILL, they didn't necessarily need Jack?

I wouldn't go as far as to say they didn't need Jack..there were some need's left on the table...but you can't fill every hole, right?

When he was released I checked out what was said about him on the fans forums. Then I did some googling and then finally checked out his grade at PFF...

He was the 83rd rated LB.

McClain was the 28th.

Hitchens was the 69th.

Just for grins, Sean Lee was 3rd.

I think he made too many tackles down field and was a big liability in coverage... Like we needed MORE of that!

And when even their employees badmouth their stat-keeping system, you know PFF is absolutely worthless.

If the Saints can afford to look at him, It's disappointing that this team isn't.

Well show me something that supports the premise the guy is a better alternative than Hitchens and/or Durant?

I gave you info.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's worthless.

And I gave you info that showed he was more productive than McClain, but somehow that didn't matter?

Sure looks like a blatant double-standard.

But hey, PFF and all...

Tackles aren't meaningful unless you take into context on where they are made.

The folks at PFF watched every play he made and didn't make.

What else ya got Stash?

I don't need anything else. PFF is a garbage site that pollutes their own rankings. Even criticized by the people who work there. Their reputation is worthless, as well as their subjective, biased stats.

But hey, you hang onto to those numbers!

Hey all you're doing is hanging on a name without any proof the "name" had was better than what we already had or other options.

Obviously the Cowboys weren't big on the guy.

He was there! He played all 16 games and has never missed a game in his career.

Conversely, you're trying to prop ups somebody who has yet to finish a complete one.

But again, PFF...

Obviously the Cowboys weren't big on the guy.

No, they were "high" on a guy who'd rather get high...

Maybe the team could hide some 'Purple Drank' in their Gatorade bottles to get McClain to walk back on the field?

:lmao:

Hey Stash you reached for "name" and the "name" isn't very good.

You can try again. :)

And you - and you alone, can keep saying that as many times as you need to in order for you to try and feel better about the team's latest blunder. But no matter how many times you do, it won't make it so.

I can guarantee that there's not a team in the league that wouldn't take Laurinitis over the embarrassment that this team decided to count on.

But hey, PFF...

The PFF may be flimsy... But at this point, "I'm the tallest dwarf"... Deal with it! LOL!

I have "dealt with it". I think it for the worthless, waste of time that it is and give it no credibility. Again, when even the people you pay to sift through that garbage come out and say how bad it is, that's pretty damning.

Stash I can see being bitter about other things associated with the team but not signing this guy ain't one of'em.

Yea, makes no dam sense to me why you pass on Jack when Jaylon may never play a down.

Like you said, the window with Romo is maybe 3 years and everybody says Jack would be good for at least 3 years.

When Romo is done, it doesn't really matter if Jaylon is an All-Pro.............we win 6 games instead of 4 games......big freaking deal.

Don't tell Jerry Jones how to draft, the executive of the year is highly qualified and an expert in his field....has 20years of losing to show for it.

Smh this is a shame. This selfish prick is out here chilling and fishing while his "brothers" are slaving at training camp. He doesn't deserve the talent he is wasting.

I saw him too...
