Romo 2014 or Dak 2023

Who do you think had a better season. Both were peak years that could have won MVPs but got beat out by the narrative. Dak gets his chance to do what Romo couldn't do and beat the Packers. I'm going with Dak he has been lights out.

Romo - 3705 yards 34 TDs 9 Ints
Dak - 4516 yards 36 TDs 9 Ints
Dak...do I win a cookie?

Well if you look at stats at face value without looking at the big picture you're obviously going with Dak....

What was the point of this thread? Romo was and will always be a better quarterback. Now don't get me wrong Dak is more then capable of winning

How about Romo/Dak in 2024? Hopefully they'll both have a great super bowl next month!

Easily Romo. That was possibly the best year of quarterbacking in Cowboys history.

Romo was absolutely brilliant that year. Went into Seattle, where nobody won in those days, and took that game with some amazing throws.

Managed Dez like nobody could. Utilized him in such a way that made Dez perhaps the most feared receiver in the game with back-shoulder and high-point balls of precision.

Murray and the offensive line paired with Romo in the passing attack was deadly.

And yes, Dez caught it. The dumbest overturn for the dumbest rule in NFL history.

Oh look who it is

Dak had the better season. He carried our offense in 2023 due to our lack of a running game. He led the NFL in TD passes making him only the second Cowboys QB next to Roger Staubach to ever do that. He attempted over 150 more passes than Romo in 2014. Romo was able to manage games because DeMarco Murray set a franchise record with over 1800 yards rushing which led the NFL. Romo also had arguably the best OL in the entire league. He would have never made through a 17 game season with this running game and OL.

Exactly why I laugh at people like you. You have the posting history/mentality of if Dak makes it further then Romo or X cowboys quarterback he's better when he could put up a nothing burger and be carried. Half this board thinks the same way.

I'll support any quarterback for the Cowboys but for quarterback ability and etc Romo was superior. What Dak did this year was phenomenal no doubt

Different type of team, different eras, etc

Nearly a decade apart
Very different.

I do think the team around Dak this year is better overall than the 2014 team, but maybe more comparable to 2007
