1. How does a below average, bum quarterback place himself in the top 10 out of 64+ NFL quarterbacks, his whole career every season he finished a season healthy, become an All-Pro and became an MVP candidate?

2. What are the names of other below average, bum quarterbacks who have been perennial top ten, became an All-Pro and MVP candidate?

Nice speech, but you didn’t actually prove anything. Stats and awards don’t erase the fact that Dak comes up short when it matters most. Top-10 regular-season numbers don’t mean much if they vanish in January. That’s what people are pointing to — not just box scores, but results when it counts.

They are both top 5 Cowboys quarterbacks of all time. Jerry is the problem.

No doubt good enough ,while not elite , to build around. We just never built a great defense around them and our top offenses with them wasn’t enough for more success.

With rare exceptions to go deeper in playoffs need an Elite QB or Elite Defense. We have had neither although probably a better QB than defense .

Great enough offenses possibly for more success if had top 10 defenses . But QB’s weren’t enough to carry lesser defenses.

The January reality is once again a problem that the Dallas Cowboys TEAM has. Yes... Dak was part of the problem of that January Reality.

But again.... you still haven't answered my question. We know all know and have established that Dak isn't elite and he has fell short at important times.... I honestly don't have any problem with that point, however....

My problem is, people act like this is boxing or golf. The Cowboys led the NFL in penalties 3 or 4 of the years Dak has played in Dallas. Guess how many of those penalties he committed? Zero.

Let me say this again.... Dak was part of the January problem. Remember the first playoff game against the 49ers? In that game, we had 14, 15 penalties.

How many quarterbacks can help their team win playoff games with that many penalties VS a number one ranked 49ers defense? I have NEVER heard of any NFL quarterback leading their team in a playoff victory over a number one ranked defense, after said quarterback's team committed 15 penalties.

So if no other quarterbacks can overcome league leading penalties for 3 or 4 years.... why is our quarterback expected to?

Again... there were times when the team played good enough to win but Dak didn't close the deal.

With all of this said, Dak isn't elite but he's a very good quarterback. So if he's a bum and below average as a few here stated... im still trying to figure out how a below average bum can do what he has been able to do at times.

They still can't explain that.

Another key difference:

many of the same folks blaming the defense for the tie the other night were eviscerating Romo after that Denver game, basically because he made one mistake on the INT to Trevathan.

like you said, 500+ yards, 5 TD, and he got blamed. 48 points scored in a loss to the eventual AFC champs, and Romo was burned in effigy after that game.

^ This. I know it has been a dozen years, but there were virtually no 'beloved' threads and posts made on behalf of Tony Romo following that particular Dallas/Denver game. At least, there were practically none made on this site. Perhaps some members are remembering comments made elsewhere and are projecting their recollections here..?
