Romo had an opportunity at the end and he threw the pick. However, he had an outstanding game and those who wanted a more conservative approach at the end should realize that the gunslinging play of romo is the only reason this game was not a blow out.

Romo was holding the ball until the last second and making big throws when other QB's would have thrown it away after 4-5 seconds. Romo was running out of the pocket and finding guys while bobing and weaving through bodies and making great passes for 1st downs. Romo threw a deep pass to Dez on 3rd down backed up to his own endzone after ST penalty and then a holding call that negated a big play. There was nothing "safe" about this offense all game.

And that is the only reason they were in the game - because this Denver team scores almost every possession.

You have to play this team differently because no teams defense has stopped them yet. To use a baseball analogy - Id rather go down swinging then get called out on strikes. How would you like a conservative call at the end and risk go 3 and out and punt then watch peyton drive down and win it.

Have to have more faith in romo after the display he put on then your defense after the display they put on.

I think the way I'll always view Romo is that even if he came up short in some big games (and he definitely did against Washington last year), he did so much to carry a lackluster and conceited front office in the rest of the games that 95% of my vitriol will always be directed toward them.

The front office wasted the best years of Romo's career with their complete and utter mismanagement and learn on the job HC, It'll take us years to replace Romo when that time comes. We haven't seen bad football yet and we haven't hit rock bottom as a franchise..............

Romo has to have more losses in games where he had a 100 plus QB rating than any other QB.
Vinny Testaverde holds that distinction with 17 losses. Romo has 13.

It's the 8th time Romo has had a 110 or better in a loss. That's one game behind Tarkenton, Marino, and Chris Chandler.

Romo leads all active players in both categories.

This defense should be ashamed and any blaming any player on offense needs to buy football for dummies . The defense didn't even make the broncos punt 1 time !

Thanks Percy. It's mind boggling to me. We have a QB that's on pace to break just about every single season record this year who plays on a team with a defense that's on pace to be the worst in franchise history. Talk about a perfect storm. It's almost mind numbing............

That said, they DID give Romo the chance to make a comeback from 15 pts down AND take a lead... Listen, Romo had a GREAT game. In the game thread, all I wanted was Dallas to have last drive in the game. Romo got it with a little over 2 minutes to go. He could have shut up all the detractors by using up those 2 minutes and give us that game winning drive. Alas, all he did was fuel the perception that he chokes in big game situations with that INT...

And why was the game tied with three minutes left. Because the defense let manning tie it up after romo gave us the led after a great drive.

How many times did Denver and Dallas punt today??? That same sorry defense that got the INT in the second half and stopped the Broncos and they had to settle for three's, so if someone told you before that game, it would be tie game with three minutes left and that the offense would have the ball and three timeouts. you wouldn't of settled for that coming into this game ....Romo had a chance to lead the team down the field for a winning score, the same Romo where the Romo is elite lovers always say has the best QB rating of any QB in Football, of cource I find QB ratings are for suckers.....the defense was awful, both teams defense's were awful, but when your team has a chance to win and the QB threw it to the other team, trying to pass it off that it was the defense that lost the game, sounds kind of ridiculous...

This is the best 5-game start of Romo's career, and the 3rd best start in franchise history.

Through 5 games
(min 20 att/game)
Staubach (1976) 120.7
Meredith (1966) 115.1

This isn't worthy of its own thread, but the Raiders-Chargers game is starting right now.

He made another signature play today bailing out the line.

It was a great one.

I feel bad for the guy, I really do. We were behind in the second half and he brought us back against pretty tough odds and they can't even get a stop for him when he gives them a 48-41 lead in the fourth qtr.

Garrett has to run with this. Despite the last minute gaff today, it's clearly the only way we have a chance to win anything of significance this year.

Yes. They decided to let go of players that were overpaid/paycheck players that were part of a culture problem at valley ranch even though they did not have replacements in place - knowing that there would be a few years of drafting youth, rebuilding and changing the culture of the Dallas Cowboys from celebrity wanna bees back to "football players".

It is a shame that for a good part of Romo's career he had to play within the circus that the dallas cowboys had become, but management and current coaching appears dedicated to changing the culture of this franchise moving forward - and i believe this is the year that we as fans begin to see some dividends from these choices.

2-3 now, but i think this team will be evolving with enough pieces in place to make a run at the end of the year instead of the traditional fold at the end of the year.

Their punter is stealing money this year - it would be fun to calculate at the end of the year his salary divided by punts.

Romo's yards per attempt today was 14.06 on 36 attempts.

No one has ever had a 14+ yards per attempt on that many attempts before, at least since 1960. Until today, the highest ever YPA on at least 36 attempts was Y.A. Tittle with 12.95 on 39 attempts in 1962. Romo beat that by nearly a full yard.

Romo's adjusted yards per pass attempt (factoring in TD and INT) was 16.83.

No one has ever had an AYA that high on that many attempts before either (at least since 1960). Until today, that record also belonged to Tittle, in that same game. He had 7 TD and 0 INT in that game, by the way. His AYA was 16.54

Since 1960, teams whose QB have a 140+ rating and 300+ yards in a game are now 142-2, with Romo owning both losses.

How many games does Romo have now, where he has over 100 passer rating, but we still lose?
