How does he have a higher chance of playing for the Jags or Browns than retiring?

Anyway, I think Houston, Den and KC are his best options. Three amazing defenses where he won't have to be superman to win at his age.

Houston seems to most likely choice to me.

Denver has a real nice QB prospect in Lynch who is hitting his 2nd year -- it would be pretty much throwing that pick away of they brought Romo in as the starter at this point.

How about player coach for Cowboys if allowed and it helps Cap due to legit way to manage contract. Ideas - Assistant O Coordinator, QB coach - backup QB...

History - don't know what todays NFL thinks about this

In the mid-1950s Tom Landry played defensive back while serving as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. In the early 1970s, when Landry was coach of the Dallas Cowboys, he made running back Dan Reeves a player-coach. More modern players have acted as player-coaches in an unofficial capacity, such as journeyman quarterback Steve DeBerg, who served as an unofficial mentor for younger, more skilled arms while also serving as their backup.

Houston makes the most sense. Elite defense, elite WR, strong running game, and maybe a legit QB away.
All day long.

Only two barriers that I see
1) Osweiller's contract...can figure something out
2) Even though the Cowboys dominate the markets, Jerry absolutely does not another team in Texas truly challenging for a Super Bowl and market share.

I dunno, Jags have some talent on both sides.

Definitely have a young nucleus at RB/WR. Not sure how their O-line is, other than having Parnell at RT. And the AFC south is still a toss up.

Agreed. Jags are super young and talented, my sleeper team for next year to make a playoff push

Houston needs to fix that OLine though, maybe Leary goes there with him if possible.

Good question, SD
But I kind of agree. Both chances are a bit slim though, in any case.
The Jags do have a lot of talent...massive underachievers. New coach and Tom Coughlin may help with some direction.
Still, yes, long odds.

And Coughlin came out and said they're sticking with Bortles, earlier this week.

I keep wondering if a deal could be worked out for Clowney. It's likely a long shot, but given what the team would be paying out for some of their elite players, and at quarterback between Romo and the Osweiler debacle, I don't see where they would have the room to keep Clowney too.

They got good pass rushers under contract in Mercilus and Watt, so maybe they'd be willing to part with Clowney as part of a deal for Romo too?

I'm not sure how realistic it is, but it's something I've personally thought about.

I'd take that deal all day, Stash. Clowney is slowly developing into a monster. Like you, I don't think the Texans do that trade, either. It would be fun to read the reactions of HOU's fanbase. They love the dude (Clowney).

It has no chance of happening.
