Is the "Tony Romo magic" over?

Would you re-consider signing him to a long term deal if a bluechip QB is available to us in the draft? Discuss.

Look Tony played like crap, but it does not matter who is back there, when you cant run the ball or pass block. This off season was a total and complete failure. JJ did nothing to improve this line matter fact it has gotten worse.

Tony Romo magic is not done, but this team relies to heavily on it.

I wouldn't care if Jerry went to draft a QB next year. At this point does anyone really care??? We're 31st in the league in PPG.

Amazing insight. Thanks for that.

Are you seriously asking this question? How is he done because he had an off game? Stop it. The offensive line sucks and gives him zero time is why you're seeing all these interceptions.

I like Romo. He's a good QB. But the dude just has bad luck. Time for a change. This franchise needs a QB who is untouchable by the media.

it wasn't even an off game.

he had an off second half - after the defense allowed the lead to go right back to 10 on the first drive of the second half.

he was pressing. no doubt about it. his first half performance on a loaded team would of had us blowing the bears away by half time.

You know what I would do this year, I would just hand over the offense to Tony this year, just go no huddle most of the time. Like at the end of the first half. And go from there.

Everyone saw 2 other QB's last night who could get the ball out quick, on a rope, into tight coverage. Tony cannot, we can keep him while we develop a young guy, but the time for a blue chip is here. What do you think Orton would draw from the jets right now? What's Ware worth?

Time to make some hard choices.

I don't think he's done. I think the front office has put him in a position where he has to make something out of nothing on a weekly basis. With that you get good games where he makes some astonishing plays and then you get what you saw last night.

It's too bad really because you have to figure if you filled the areas of need offensively with better quality then at the very least Romo could bus drive this thing almost Dilfer style.

"Romo was a miracle" and each week Jerry expects miracles from Romo after surrounding him with an Oline that can't produce a running game and receivers who have a case of the dropsies or have immense talent with a 10 cent brain.

Was he done last year after the Detroit game?

Come on..the guy is not done and will bounce back..

AND..yes am calling it now.. in 3-inch headline

THE COWBOYS WILL BEAT THE RAVENS

However, just like Jerry did to get Claiborne, I would do the same (if needed) to get a top collage QB...these days those kids come ready made for the NFL and some look even better that veterans..considering this league is becoming a QB league Dallas need a top young QB to join the new group of young Cowboys...

Yeah, Orton looked superb with the second teamers playing against the backups on the Bears playing prevent with under two minutes left with no chance to win. Let's trade Romo now because this quick score will obviously translate to every drive as soon as he joins the first team players as soon as Romo is gone.

Seriously, do people think anymore?

I have been critical of Romo, particularly in the Romo vs. Eli debates.

But Tony Romo isn't the problem. Three of the five interceptions weren't his fault.

The other two were desperation throws, trying to make something happen.

He's trying to get guys in position, hitting them dead in the hands and they're dropping the ball.

I think Romo is being engulfed by the culture that is the Dallas Cowboys.

I believe if you put Tony Romo on a different team, you'd get different results.

But on the Cowboys, he will forever be seen as a quarterback who can't get it done.

He isn't done. He could use some freaking help though.

I thought the O-line pass blocked good enough last night.

Dez Bryant is becoming a huge factor of letdown.

But, with Romo, it was just one of those nights and he doesn't have a defense or others around him to make a play or 5 to get them back in the game.

The running game is pathetic.. That doesn't help any QB not named Brady.

If Tony is done here it is because the front office neglected our biggest flaw in the off-season. Our offensive line was terrible last year and Tony Romo's brilliant play hid the flaws that were obvious to us fans. Hostile, myself and many others on this forum kept campaigning for a complete overhaul of the offensive line. What do they do? they get players that couldn't start for the Panthers and Dolphins and another guard that even the Bengals didn't try to re-sign. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Honestly I wouldn't blame Tony for not signing an extension. Maybe then he could finally show everyone what he can do behind a line that gives him more than 1 second to find his receivers.

Tony is being asked to do way too much because we either cannot or will not run the ball..

When we get some balance, Tony will perform much better.

He was never the biggest, fastest or with the strongest arm out there. He had "moxie" remember?. Age, injuries and the worst OL in team history make him look human now. These are going to be his longest 2 weeks in his life but he'll bounce back. Hopefully is not vs Cleveland and we're 2-7 when it happens.

I agree, but his time is clearly wasted here in Dallas. No way to fix this Oline in one year. If this team goes 4-12 and they have a shot at a stud QB, by all means take him.

Look at what the 49ers did two years ago. They heavily invested in the offensive line.

Look at the 49ers now. They not only have a great defense, but that defense is helped by an offensive line that methodically marches down the field and keeps the defense rested.

It's all about the offensive line on offense. Not the quarterback, not the running back, not the receiver, but the offensive line.

Have a bad one and the money positions mean nothing.
