Romo done?

If we have another top 5 pick I wouldn't argue against drafting a QB.

From Day one.

It starts with the O-line and D-line.. you don't have that. You don't have crap.

I am glad Tony tabled the extension talks. If I were Tony, I would move onto another team such as the Niners or Cardinals. Unless things change, I see no point in continuing with this team and their managers.

I don't know if Romo has started declining yet, but he hasn't looked great this year. At some point the constant pressure of running for his life will take it's toll. Instead of building a team to protect Romo, Dallas decided that Tony's escape ability should be enough to for the offense to play well. My concern three years ago was that a decent line wouldn't be built before Romo's play started to decline and I still have the same concern. I think between the pressure on the field and the pressure off the field will speed up the the end of the Romo era.

Yeah, Orton looked superb with the second teamers playing against the backups on the Bears playing prevent with under two minutes left with no chance to win. Let's trade Romo now because this quick score will obviously translate to every drive as soon as he joins the first team players as soon as Romo is gone.

Seriously, do people think anymore?

Is the "Tony Romo magic" over?

Did anybody feel this way after we went to NJ on opening night against the vagiants and Romo shredded them? He hasn't lost his ability over the course of a few weeks. He has been battered, his OL has come up small, his receivers have dropped numerous passes (or have been on a different page), and there has been no running game to take the pressure off of him. He looked great at many points during the game last night, unfortunately, this teams has always shown that it's just a matter of time before it makes a mistake and kills a drive (penalties, drops, throwing while getting hit, etc.). Romo has never been the problem, the OL and overall sloppiness have been the biggest culprits on the offensive side of the ball. It would also be nice to have a D that causes turnovers.

Intelligence isn't yours.

Anyone who thinks Romo is any semblance of a problem is a blithering idiot.

Cutler has always been talented, except he's been a mental case. He just happened to play like a superstar like all other QBs seem to do against the Cowboys, even remotely average ones.

There was only three QBs who played last night, so if you were denigrating Romo, you were obviously praising the other two. I'm not naive.

I probably am guilty of measuring him against Staubach and Aikman, which isnt fair. Last year, despite s few hiccups, he was as consistent and outstanding on a week to week basis as I've seen him.

I cant even fault him for last night. Anyone can see he's working with a wr who has an IQ of about 12 and an ol with 4 practice squad type talents. Part of me would like to see him go somewhere that will provide him with proper coaching and proper talent around him to maximize his ability and win big late in his career.

The Cowboys need to blow this up and start over. Unfortunately, I have no confidence in the powers that be to do that, or if they did, to make the right talent decisions to build it back up.

Would you re-consider signing him to a long term deal if a bluechip QB is available to us in the draft? Discuss.

Yeah you are right, he's finished.

Tank the season, let him walk, and draft a number 1 QB.

Romo sucks boooooo

Look at what the 49ers did two years ago. They heavily invested in the offensive line.

Look at the 49ers now. They not only have a great defense, but that defense is helped by an offensive line that methodically marches down the field and keeps the defense rested.

It's all about the offensive line on offense. Not the quarterback, not the running back, not the receiver, but the offensive line.

Have a bad one and the money positions mean nothing.

What turned that team around was coaching. Singletary had those same OL and didn't do squat. Harbaugh made the difference.

And the same thing would happen here if Jerry would wake up. But of course he won't.

The point is, Romo can play. He's demonstrated that for years, even before Garrett got here.

I like Romo. He's a good QB. But the dude just has bad luck. Time for a change. This franchise needs a QB who is untouchable by the media.

Yeah!

Who needs Romo?

We are better off without the scrub....damn i wish we had Mike Vick

JG and Romo are the worst combination.

All the media hyping Romo for all magic he creates, enables him to hold on to the ball and take risks and he forgot all that Parcells told him, to take a sack, to throw away the ball. With JG pass heavy game plans and with our OL, our situation is just a losing proposition.

I know our rushing attack only gives us -2 yards, 0 yards or +2 yards most of the time, but good teams don't abandon the run, they play balanced offense and field position game and try to win 6-3 games if they have too, Not JG or Romo, they are genious and Magician, they can score 100 points by half time if (insert excuse here)

I would let him play out his final year and draft someone...if Tony has a great year you can sign him long term or franchise him.

In order to give him the best chance of succeeding I would spend some more FA$ on a Vollmer, Clady or Duane Brown and possibly draft someone relatively high.

You are fooling yourself if you think that the Niners drafting O-linemen and watching the same 5 gel and get good has nothing to do with the Niners success.

I do agree it is coaching as well. But. the fact that the Niners bit the bullet and drafted O-line a few years back has helped as well.

Game is not based on magic and yes I extend his contract.

Good grief.

Tony is not Aikman or Staubach, but there is so much wrong with this team that replacing him will not fix. You could put Brady, Brees, or either one of the Manning boys on this team, and we'd still find a way to lose.

Hint: the problem starts at the top. No, not JG...keep going up.

ETA: you know all of you will feel really sick if Tony goes to another team and wins a Super Bowl. I could just see that happening, too.

Never said it made no difference. But the clear difference was the HC change.

Agreed.

I just think it adds up to good timing as well. the O-line for the Niners is maturing and making them a better team. But, no doubt, coaching has it's place as well.

Replacing Romo hits the reset button in a big way. It's not like we just go out and get some untested rookie and all of a sudden the line starts blocking and the receivers catch the ball and the defense turns into a turnover maching. We'd be a 4-5 win team for a year or two. I still think most of the pieces are in place for a good team, but we need a line and a hew head coach.
